Royal Windsor Racecard - Monday 29th July

Page 1

WELCOME

The summer season at Royal Windsor seems to fly along so fast as soon as our Monday evening sequence gets into full swing, and it’s hard to believe that already this is our final date in July, but we have something special lined up for you to mark the occasion.

Tonight we present An Evening with Queen, featuring a live concert which includes some of the top songs from that unforgettable era on the paddock lawn after the final race. We Will Rock You until well after the sun goes down, and don’t feel Under Pressure to leave early - the food stalls and bars will remain open while you are enjoying the music.

The conclusion of the Fitzdares Sprint Series is now just two weeks away and some familiar names will contest this evening’s six-furlong qualifier Since the start of June the potential finalists have been showing off their credentials and it’s possible that among tonight’s runners is the lucky one who will ultimately land the valuable prize on 12 August.

As we move into August, next weekend we switch to Saturday for Gents Evening, with top DJ Chris Moyles providing the musical entertainment. Therefore, there’s no racing scheduled for a week today, but we return to the well-established Monday timeslot in a fortnight when Vegas Night, with a distinct Elvis flavour, is the theme to accompany the Fitzdares Final.

Further information is available on our website, www.windsor-racecourse.co.uk, with details of some tempting raceday meal packages and news of other forthcoming fixtures including Racing League on Thursday 15 August If you haven’t yet experienced the crazy fun of racing’s very own team competition, you can secure your booking for this year’s meeting on the website.

We are still at the peak of the summer of 2024, and at this time of year there’s no finer place to enjoy an evening out with your family and friends than Royal Windsor - the Home of Monday Night Racing With such a huge variety of music and on-track excitement to choose from during the next month, we do hope you will be able to return soon.

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED

The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.

The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).

The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
