Welcome to Royal Windsor for what is our final Monday evening fixture of the summer –though there’s no need to re-arrange diaries quite yet, as the Monday theme continues on into October, it’s just that after today we don’t do it every week and when we do it’s earlier in the afternoon.
We’ve been delighted that our evenings have once again been memorable, made up of some great and entertaining races, wonderful musical acts and, of course, terrific crowds –thank you to everyone for your support.
Tonight’s programme promises to be more of the same, with the valuable British Stallion Studs EBF Restricted Novice Stakes the centrepiece, and we’re really happy that the trustees of the European Breeders Fund are sponsors here tonight, in the process reminding us all of the magnificent stallions based in Britain.
From the race’s entry point, leading stables from right across the country have expressed an interest with some highly-promising runners mentioned, and the final line-up looks very exciting
RoyalWindsor’s sprints are invariably a fine spectacle, and Fuller Smith &TurnerTenants have an excellent race in prospect in the middle of the card, and it’s a real pleasure to welcome again the family and friends of the late Hamish Johnson and to host a race in his memory.
Final thought: Royal Windsor’s flat racing season may be reaching its closing stages, but things keep galloping on – annual membership for 2025 will be on sale very soon, and it won’t be long before the historic return of jump racing here.
That’s happening on Sunday December 15, ahead of what we anticipate will be a truly glittering Berkshire Winter Million weekend, in partnership with our friends down the road at Ascot, on January 17–19.
Have a good evening – best of luck

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating
