Star Ratings Explained
Each horse is given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race HHHHI Good chance of being placed HHHII By no means without a chance
HHIII At least one or two hold stronger claims HIIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope IIIII Can be given little or no chance
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

RACE SUMMARY
Alghadeer finished ahead of several of these in a higher grade over shorter and of the least exposed runners, he has the most scope to improve on his second handicap outing. Falcon Du Roc’h was a long way behind him that day and is only a pound better off here, but will be happier in this company on only his third start for his new yard. Samawaat has struggled to hold her form, but her staying on third here last time suggests she may have a chance of making the frame again. KAYACK caught the eye when runner-up to a good yardstick over course and distance last year, and when a narrow second in this grade over shorter in July. Today’s conditions should be ideal and he can give his patient stable a successful end to the ARO 2021 Season.

KINGSHOLM is a C&D winner and he’s been running creditably this season. He’s had less racing than plenty in here and he’s taken to capitalise off a pound below his last winning mark. Street Life is in a purple patch at the moment and he won’t be far away. True Hero is a prolific sprinter and he has to be taken seriously round here too. 1-2-3: 1.KINGSHOLM (IRE) 2.STREET LIFE 3.TRUE HERO KEY

LONGEST TRAVELLER: ANOTHER ANGEL trained by A Brittain, Warthill, 138 miles. RACE SUMMARY
ICONIC KNIGHT gained his first win for this yard at Chepstow last month. He’s the type that will get on a roll for his shrewd handler and could add to his C&D tally tonight. Zamjar sets a decent standard on recent form and won’t be far away if he can overcome his high draw. Freedom Flyer is another with each-way claims.

RACE SUMMARY HEADORA is still a maiden but he’s gone closest to shedding that tag in his two visits to Wolverhampton. Nothing went right for him at Kempton last time and, returning to this venue, he makes plenty of appeal. Willy Nilly performed creditably at Carlisle after a spell over hurdles last time and he’ll be a danger. Romulan Prince is one of several others that are hard to rule out. 1-2-3: 1.HEADORA 2.WILLY NILLY (IRE) 3.ROMULAN PRINCE KEY colours
