Veterinary Care

Horse welfare is a priority at Wolverhampton. At every meeting there are two specially qualified Equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all the horses in action. One vet is present at the start of each race and during the race follows the runners in a vehicle. Horses can be attended to in the same time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating injured jockeys. The second vet follows the action from the stands and coordinates the required response to any incidents. In addition, throughout the meeting a close check is kept on all horses, especially those returning after a race. It is standard policy that in the event of a horse requiring veterinary treatment whilst on site, screens will be erected around the horse. It is designed to afford the vet and the patient some privacy. Please do not assume the worst.

BETTING DISPUTES & QUERIES

RACE SIX

Customers requiring the services of the Betting Ring Manager today should speak to a member of the Racecourse staff for assistance.

VETERINARY CARE Horse welfare is a priority at Wolverhampton.

RACE SUMMARY

NATIONAL CHARTER’s promising debut at Lingfield in December has been followed by two lesser efforts, but she’s in good hands and improvement is anticipated now pitched into a handicap off a lowly opening mark. This stiffer test is another potential catalyst for improvement and she is preferred to Foreshadow, who found just one too good at Southwell recently, and the consistent Away Wit Da Fairys.
