Veterinary Care
Horse welfare is a priority at Wolverhampton. At every meeting there are two specially qualified Equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all the horses in action. One vet is present at the start of each race and during the race follows the runners in a vehicle. Horses can be attended to in the same time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating injured jockeys. The second vet follows the action from the stands and coordinates the required response to any incidents. In addition, throughout the meeting a close check is kept on all horses, especially those returning after a race. It is standard policy that in the event of a horse requiring veterinary treatment whilst on site, screens will be erected around the horse. It is designed to afford the vet and the patient some privacy. Please do not assume the worst.

A trappy little race in which a chance is taken on the fitness of RED VERDON, as he is a very classy sort for this level if on his game. The Johnston stable is back in form so King’s Advice, who has headgear fitted for just the second time, gets the nod for the forecast spot.

VETERINARY CARE Horse welfare is a priority at Wolverhampton.

STUDY THE STARS relished the step up to this sort of trip when second at Kempton 10 days ago and, with Simon Walker on board, he’s well fancied to make his third outing for his current yard a winning one. Jenny Ren could pose a threat if the pace is strong and Genever Dragon can’t be ruled out on just his second Flat start for Donald McCain. 1-2-3: 1.STUDY THE STARS 2.JENNY REN 3.GENEVER DRAGON (IRE) KEY colours

THE RESDEV WAY was in good order on the Flat prior to a respectable effort over hurdles at Newcastle, and he was successful when last teaming up with Becky Smith, so he strikes as the most solid option in a trappy event.
