VETERINARY CARE Horse welfare is a priority at Wolverhampton. At every meeting there are two specially qualified Equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all the horses in action. One vet is present at the start of each race and during the race follows the runners in a vehicle. Horses can be attended to in the same time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating injured jockeys. The second vet follows the action from the stands and coordinates the required response to any incidents. In addition, throughout the meeting a close check is kept on all horses, especially those returning after a race. It is standard policy that in the event of a horse requiring veterinary treatment whilst on site, screens will be erected around the horse. It is designed to afford the vet and the patient some privacy. Please do not assume the worst. 5

YOU’RE COOL hasn’t recorded back-to-back successes since 2017, which tempers enthusiasm somewhat as he attempts to follow up last week’s Chemsford victorty. However, if he is able to perform to a similar level here the 10-y-o will have every chance of following up under a penalty back at a course where he has enjoyed plenty of success in the past. The consistent Dark Side Prince and Street Life rate the main dangers.

While cases can be made for the majority of these, it’s MISS SLIGO who appeals most. She has been in fine form in recent months and a fourth consecutive success is on the cards.
