LONGEST TRAVELLER: BILLY DYLAN trained by Suzzanne France, Norton on Derwent, 150 miles. RACE SUMMARY A decidedly tricky opener and a chance is taken on MY JOKER. He needs to dispel a lesser effort at Windsor 8 days ago but his previous form reads well in the context of this race and it would come as no surprise to see him bounce back. Veteran Duke of Firenze wasn’t disgraced from a wide draw at Chester recently and is also worth a look. RACE SUMMARY Surprisingly tricky for such a small-field novice event, but it might be worth having a go on the only 4-y-o MALAKAHNA, who’s been progressing rapidly over hurdles, completing a hat-trick at Cheltenham when last seen in April, and is likely to take a big step forward on only her third start on the Flat. A deserved victory could be on the cards for REDREDROBIN, who has resumed in good order this season, going close in handicaps over this C&D and most recently at Brighton. This looks tougher than the race Alafdhal landed at Yarmouth last month, and the selection may have more to fear from Bold Territories, who shaped well back on the all-weather at Newcastle 11 days ago, and Hachert. 1-2-3: 1.REDREDROBIN 2.BOLD TERRITORIES (IRE) 3.HACHERT KEY colours

VETERINARY CARE Horse welfare is a priority at Wolverhampton. At every meeting there are two specially qualified Equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all the horses in action. One vet is present at the start of each race and during the race follows the runners in a vehicle. Horses can be attended to in the same time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating injured jockeys. The second vet follows the action from the stands and coordinates the required response to any incidents. In addition, throughout the meeting a close check is kept on all horses, especially those returning after a race. It is standard policy that in the event of a horse requiring veterinary treatment whilst on site, screens will be erected around the horse. It is designed to afford the vet and the patient some privacy. Please do not assume the worst.
CLAIMING PROCEDURES
Registered Owners, Licensed and Permitted trainers may claim by telephone, to Weatherbys on 01933 303080. Such claims must be made within 15 minutes of the start of the race. RACE SUMMARY Al Mahbooba has experience, a change of headgear and an allowance to assist her and should make the frame again. Al-Hatab has everything going for him on pedigree, however his stable has made a slow start and Lewaa Athbah makes the most appeal of the newcomers. He comes from an in-form yard with three chances here and though Lujain was only a length behind KAFOU ATHBAH, he’s clearly going the right way and is taken to improve again here.
