DARCY’S ROCK got off the mark in taking style at Chepstow and is fancied to make light of a 7lb rise in a handicap where most arrive with a question mark against them. C&D winner Homemade Andrea is next on the list, although it would come as no surprise to see Rita’s Wish take a step forward on her handicap bow and she needs considering too.

RACE SIX
Horse welfare is a priority at Wolverhampton. At every meeting there are two specially qualified Equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all the horses in action. One vet is present at the start of each race and during the race follows the runners in a vehicle. Horses can be attended to in the same time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating injured jockeys. The second vet follows the action from the stands and coordinates the required response to any incidents. In addition, throughout the meeting a close check is kept on all horses, especially those returning after a race. It is standard policy that in the event of a horse requiring veterinary treatment whilst on site, screens will be erected around the horse. It is designed to afford the vet and the patient some privacy. Please do not assume the worst.
