RACEGOERS DISREGARDING THIS REGULATION OR BEHAVING IN A DISORDERLY MANNER WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE RACECOURSE.

Veterinary Care
Horse welfare is a priority at Wolverhampton. At every meeting there are two specially qualified Equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all the horses in action. One vet is present at the start of each race and during the race follows the runners in a vehicle. Horses can be attended to in the same time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating injured jockeys. The second vet follows the action from the stands and coordinates the required response to any incidents. In addition, throughout the meeting a close check is kept on all horses, especially those returning after a race. It is standard policy that in the event of a horse requiring veterinary treatment whilst on site, screens will be erected around the horse. It is designed to afford the vet and the patient some privacy. Please do not assume the worst.

Star Ratings Explained
Each horse is given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race HHHHI Good chance of being placed HHHII By no means without a chance
HHIII At least one or two hold stronger claims HIIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope IIIII Can be given little or no chance
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
You must be 18 or over to place a bet You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet If you cannot produce this, your bet will not be accepted

BETTING DISPUTES & QUERIES Customers requiring the services of the Betting Ring Manager today should speak to a member of the Racecourse staff for assistance.
VETERINARY CARE Horse welfare is a priority at Wolverhampton. 17

The vote goes to COAST who was collared in the shadow of the post over C&D last time, having made what appeared at the time to be a race-winning move just over two furlongs out. She remains on a competitive mark and the booking of Luke Morris adds to her appeal. One ForThe Ladies also shaped well over C&D recently and is feared most ahead of the consistent Bernie The Bear, who has gone up only 2lb for his Newcastle success a fortnight ago. 1-2-3: 1.COAST 2.ONE FOR THE LADIES 3.BERNIE THE BEAR (IRE) KEY colours

SEVENTH RACE 7.30 SEVEN FURLONGS ABOUT 36 YARDS [7F ABT 36YDS] FOR THREE YRS OLD AND UPWARDS
PROUDLY SPONSORED BY
THE GAMBLE RESPONSIBLY AT BETMGM HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) Total prize fund £15200 ª Owners Prize Money. 1st £6276, 2nd £3139, 3rd £1569, 4th £784, 5th £392. (Penalty Value £7955.68) Weights raised 3lb and paragraphs 27 to 31 of the Weights and Handicapping Code complied with where applicable. SS
RACE STATS LEADING COURSE TRAINER (18-23): M Appleby (71 wins from 634 runners, 11%) runs JOHNNY JAMES TRAINER-IN-FORM (LAST 14 DAYS): M Appleby (4 wins from 31 runners, 13%) runs JOHNNY JAMES WEIGHTWATCHER: DOCUMENTING won off a handicap mark of 99, his rating is now down 9lb to 90. LONGEST TRAVELLER: CAPITAL GUARANTEE trained by D O’Meara, Upper Helmsley, 155 miles. RACE SUMMARY ALL THE KING’S MEN ran a stormer in first-time cheekpieces back from a break over C&D last month when just touched off, despite encountering traffic problems at a crucial stage of the race. He is taken to deservedly get his head back in front, perhaps at the chief expense of Gincident, who boasts a good record on the all-weather and should be in the mix if fully tuned-up following a 4-month absence. Tough Enough is third choice, with Johnny James most interesting of the remainder. 1-2-3: 1.ALL THE KING’S MEN (FR) 2.GINCIDENT (IRE) 3.TOUGH ENOUGH KEY colours

LONGEST TRAVELLER: SIXCOR trained by Miss L Perratt, East Kilbride, 275 miles. RACE SUMMARY Having been given a chance by the handicapper, TRUSTY RUSTY could be worth siding with. The 6-y-o didn’t show much in a handful of runs on turf during the summer, but she’s now 5lb below the mark off which she scored at Southwell last December and her all-weather record is a pretty compelling one (winner or placed on 11 of her 20 starts on synthetics).
