Star Ratings Explained Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: ★★★★★ Selected to win the race. ★★★★✩ Good chance of being placed. ★★★✩✩ By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims ★★✩✩✩ Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. ★✩✩✩✩ Can be given little or no chance.
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
You must be 18 or over to place a bet You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet If you cannot produce this your bet will not be accepted

FEN TIGER was disappointing when fifth here a fortnight ago, but he was going steadily in the right direction prior to that. If able to get back on track, he may well reverse placings with Lady Dauphin, who was a couple of places ahead in the aforementioned handicap. Shyjack makes each-way appeal, but Send In The Clouds has a bit to prove back on turf. 1-2-3: 1.FEN TIGER (IRE) 2.LADY DAUPHIN (IRE) 3.SHYJACK KEY colours

Alan Miller 29 March 1970 3 June 2021
Alan joined Arsenal as a schoolboy at 14, and was selected for the first football school of excellence headed by Bobby Robson. With the best coaching facilities and many European tournaments, this was a great learning curve. After two years he returned to Arsenal, resuming learning his trade as a goalkeeper alongside his coach Bob Wilson. He signed professionally at 18 and went on to represent both England U18 & U21 squads - he enjoyed a ten-year period at Arsenal where the club achieved great success. However, after a lack of first team appearances and the outstanding form of his team mate David Seaman, he accepted an offer, under the guidance of Wilson, from Middlesbrough in 1994 to join Brian Robson, the newly appointed manager. After making the move, Middlesbrough won promotion in the first year, and a move to the new Riverside super stadium and the signing of the Brazilian players heralded a great period of his career. After three years at Middlesbrough, he signed for West Bromwich Albion in 1997, where Alan played some of his best football and where his horse racing passion and horse ownership started. Living near Wolverhampton racecourse, Alan teamed up with trainer Nick Littmoden and a selection of friends including Paul Dixon and some of his fellow players to enjoy many great days out at the races. In 2002 a move to Blackburn Rovers came along, a move Alan could not refuse, but after a couple of years a recurring back injury forced Alan into retirement. On having an established base and a boat in Majorca, he started a hospitality business supplying luxury villas, apartments and luxury yacht charter services, catering for many sports and TV clients. After 5 years, a business opportunity to move to Norfolk came along, which led to Alan joining the Holkham team, in the position of Executive Events Manager - a job he loved which allowed him to bring many of his contacts in the sporting world to the great Holkham estate and set up many events. One of which is the Festival of Sport, which, sadly, Alan will not be able to attend, but with this great tribute racing event to be held, it will allow family, friends and many of the Holkham team to have fun and celebrate his life during what will hopefully be a successful yearly event.
