The mission of the Arkansas Farm Bureau Foundation is to further the understanding of agricultural and rural issues, and to support the agriculture and rural community through financial support for disaster relief, education, research and litigation. Disaster Relief In 2018, the Foundation donated $50,000 to the American Red Cross of Arkansas for flood relief. In 2020, the Foundation partnered with the ArFB Women’s Leadership Committee to donate $50,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas in an effort to help offset projected shortfalls as a result of COVID-19.
Foundation Grants During 2019-2020, numerous grants have been awarded on the city and state level totaling $24,550. Some of the grant projects include: • Old State House Museum - Arkansas State Fair Exhibit • Hempstead County Women’s Leadership Committee - Egg Hatching & Bees in the Classroom • Johnson County Farm Bureau - Little Book Barns of Johnson County • Lonoke County Women’s Leadership Committee - Virtual Ag Tours Education M*A*S*H M*A*S*H (Medical Applications of Science for Health) is a program designed for students interested in a career in the medical field. The two-week camps are free and take place at various locations around the state. Ag in the Classroom The Arkansas Ag in the Classroom program was created to promote awareness of the importance of agriculture to our communities, state, nation and the world to students in all grade levels. The Ag in the Classroom program features K-12 classroom materials, garden grants, educational programs and teacher workshops.
