This is a Gated Community Villa Project is Located in 12 acre site at Bangalore, India. There are 87 Villas with personal Landscaped Garden. The Villas are categorized in to 4 types based on the areas. The gated community also has a clubhouse in it.

In this process of doing detail drawings and coordinating in the site, I came to know the construction methodology on Ground and perceived the process of design getting converted in to reality

I was involved in the design development team for the 4 type of Villas and Club house. In addition to it, I also worked on the detailing, construction drawing, Bill of quantities and Digital model.

This Vertical Neighborhood project is coming at Bangalore,India. There are Totally 76 dwelling Units each of which are planned in such a way, each unit gets good ventilation and Lighting inside. I was involved in the Facade designing of the project along with the Guidance of chief architect Kiran Venkatesh. The main idea of designing the facade is to keep it as simple to the Indian Context , at the same time to Innovate new design idea for the Building.

As a competition project it had a lot of scope in playing with the mass and spatial design of the building, which was really helpful for me in understanding the characters of the building. This project is a design proposal at Bangalore, India. I was one of the lead in designing the Coneptual and Facade Design of the Building with a Team of Architects . The main idea behind the working was to stack each and every apartment of the building with notion of Deconstructing the regular box forms . The details around the extended edge of the facade makes each and every level of the building to stand out.

On the other hand, creating structure of commercial activities, prevent over-commercialization of the universities themselves.

SITE ANALYSIS: The site is located in chennai capital city of Indian state, Tamilnadu. It is located near the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) one of the most prestigious institutions of India. The city has a tropical wet and Dry Climate. As it lies on the Thermal Equator it records maximum temprature during the Summer. The Site plan shows the proposed site is in midst of dense green forest and High Rise building . It has entry on two side one from the 50 feet road abutting the IIT campus and other sub road connecting the site to Artery Road of the city.

THESIS - RESEARCH PARK
Based on the site study and data collected from the site. The Geometry of the building was tweaked a little. The main idea was to keep the flow of the Vertical and Horizontal Movement. The Vertical mass consists of Office space, Transit hotel, shops, restaurants and Conference halls stacked up. The Horizontal mass consists of Research modules and Incubations center spread over. The main concept is to make Building climate Responsive , So skin of the Facade is made up two Glazed curtain wall inside and Horizontal Louvre strips outside. The louver strips acts a responsive material. It is achieved by distortion of depth in the Louvre is by a simple 90 degree twist which makes it to reveal the Elements there behind. This also act as Screening by Blocking the Sun rays entering the building. Each and Every point of the Louvre is connected to the sensor and can be manipulated easily according to the temperature.

FORM EVOLUTION: The Design expanded with the evolution of form for the Building , as the form defines the space inside the Building. • Based on the given criteria - the maximum height and setback of the Building, a rectangle box with void was extruded. • The program components required a very less space , so a part of the Extrusion was subtracted. • An addition of semi-cylinder to Form gives a enormous view to the city.

INFORMATION TECHONOLOGY BUILDING
This workshop intends to explore Computer Aided Design (CAD) as a means to enable architectural creativity whilst still responding to complex spatial and material performance constraints. Experts from Zaha Hadid Architects, London, AA School of Architecture, SCI - Arc, Los Angeles and Sasaki Engineers, Tokyo etc., Everyday briefed us with the thought process of fabrication method and Techniques in the Design studio. We were taught to design the Creased Shell Structure (Background Image). We were exposed to the design techniques and analysis methods to design and build the prototype. The Workshop aimed to continue both the exploration and streamlining of the multi-stage process of concept to physical manifestation and the agenda of exploring physics-based design methods, integration of form and structure, computational methods of optimization for fabrication, and adaptation to local means, methods and craft .

ARCHITECTURE ASSOCIATION VISITING SCHOOL INDIA - WORKSHOP

By articulating the materials with creases and folds we found that the shell structures were able to achieve higher strengths and larger spans. To test out the performance, Tutors designed the installation with a thin 1mm sheet of aluminum that resulted in two cantilevering shells. In total, 15 standard sheets of aluminum were laser cut at a local manufacturer in Bangalore. The assembly time took 3.5 hours per shell and was constructed by us, a team of 30 Students in one night.

The workshop design started with Basic exercise on curves . With the curves a pattern was created on flat plane to check Gaussian Curve. The pattern was created manually with papers to understand the crease, valley and mountain of the folds. The paper modeled origami shape was converted digitally in Maya.

The design was to create a shading element for the Roof top terrace in the building, where the workshop was conducted. The final design of the Digital prototype was appreciated by the Juries . One of the key points mentioned by the Tutors was the stability of the paper model. The Ribs running through panels made by the pinch holds the panels together with out any vertical support. The thin shell on the whole with weak and strong joints was a good experiment for the understanding of structure with architecture.

AUTONOMY OF COMMUNICATION: Fragility is one of the fundamentals in Architecture. ‘A space for interaction’ becomes a precursor for our project to support the narrative of communicative hierarchy and its tacit play of strong and fragile association within that environment. The project aims to explore this condition in a thickened surface which is often read as a layer of uniformly condensed network creating a specific degree of division within itself. For us ‘the wall’ no longer functions as partition but as base, it encapsulates, envelopes everything that takes place within. It keeps the ambiguity of inside and the outside intact within its layered composition. The system of such association oscillates in the gradation of strong and fragile, thus giving rise to a multitude of spaces formed within the house. We tend to investigate the project within a hierarchy of specified matrix of volume, structure and linkage. By cutting, folding, bending and layering the two dimensional surface deforms into three dimensional creating possibilities of stable and unstable fragments between its matrix. The act of ‘the wall-house’ is yet communicative and orderly as much as it gestures to be unruled and in chaos.”

ORCHESTRATING THE DEPTH OF LIGHT: Actively participated in making this mammoth prototype for LUMINALE, Light festival in Frankfurt. The Project was short-named as Orchestra. ‘Orchestrating the Depth of Light’ (ODL) is an installation that pushes the boundaries of what embedded media technology in architecture is. Installed at Roßmarkt in central Frankfurt, ODL forms an intersection of the historical and contemporary commercial urban context, advanced light technology, computer programming and architecture. ODL uses the media technology to animate the complex depth of the architectural surface while inviting passers-by and visitors to engage with ODL’s interactive lighting system, which is triggered by camera flashlights.
