HOKKEIN MEE DIPLOMACY

Creeper Singapore is seriously lacking in land resources and over-reliance on imported food. The government wants to develop urban agriculture vigorously. Existing cities have been planned in large areas, and most of the space that can be used is vertical/roof greening/agriculture.

2020 , Downtown, Singapore

The groundbreaking of this project is whether there is a bridge between several urban crop fields as a link so that the urban farm in the city can be used as an industry and the influence and educational significance of urban agriculture can be expanded.

The second topic is the relationship between office, technology, and agriculture. Can they coexist? How to live together?

Death Landscape

Cemetary design- In Limbo

2021, Hering island, Melbourne, Victoria

The theme of this project is how to create a storied landscape based on the existing topography. The topic is Death Landscape, about creating a cemetery landscape for the deceased’s family. This design focuses on the eight processes people go through after encountering a sudden blow, corresponding to the terrain, to cater to the emotional journey of people’s ups and downs. Increasing the density of the lower terrain when users are ‘down’ creates a sense of grief, moving the soil into later stages of moderation and a sense of future-oriented peace. Design cannot subjectively lead users’ emotions, but we can give users space to feel the emotions they feel.

Historical Future

old street revival

2019, Dadang Island, Xiamen, China

People often forget traditional villages. Even if the preserved buildings become historical monuments, no one uses them anymore, and the village is entirely lifeless. Young and middle-aged people leave home for work, leaving only children and their grandparents

behind. If the traditional village is to be preserved, it is not just the form of architecture that needs to be preserved. We want to preserve the entire culture, customs, and people’s representative way of life, and architecture is only one element. How do we get people to reuse centuries-old villages?
