Wonderwall
versatile storage system
The Wonderwall was designed with Sebastian Whyte for the Woonsocket homeless shelter in Rhode Island and installed there in the Fall 2011. Using laminated Italian poplar ply, donated felt, weatherproof fabric and steel, we created two soundproofing, partitioning storage units in response to the lack of privacy experienced by the families living in the shelter. Creating a movable separation between the bedrooms, the project also introduces more variety in pattern and the opportunity for the inhabitants of the rooms to customize their wall, therefore feeling more at home.
