Canyon Winery Precast Concrete Studio Through the Architecture/Engineering studio, the Canyon Winery was designed in collaboration with Yaneli Monjaras (architecture), Adrian Newcomb (architecture), and Nathan Jo (civil engineering). Located on the Cal Poly Pomona campus in Kellog Vineyards, the project maximizes efficiency for wine production whilst serving as a hub for students. The winery utilizes a system of stacked, curved precast concrete panel that, once assembled, create intricate spaces that can be used as intersitial mechanical space or circulation.

Preservation as Provocation ACSA Farnsworth House Competition Since the competition called for a visitor’s center for the iconic Farnsworth House, the design process started with the examination of another iconic house, the Tugendhat House. The visitor’s center draws inspiration from the way Mies exploits solid and void relationships to illustrate the heirarchy of public and private spaces. Mimicking the Tugendhat House’s solid nature as it is nesseled within the landscape, the project serves as a foil to the transparent and light nature of the Farnsworth House.

MOCA Geffen + Historic Preservation and Urban Design Studio As a part of the Urban Design Studio, the project had two goals in mind: create an addition to the MOCA Geffen and respond to the needs and trends of Little Tokyo. When designing the addition, it was vital to treat Frank Gehry’s Temporary Contemporary as a historic landmark. Therefore, the project sits behind the Geffen from the main Central Avenue entrance, and is recessed from the main facade on the sculpture garden level. In order to encourage the community to visit the museum, the project embraces the already existing pedestrian pathways of Little Tokyo by linking Noguchi Plaza to the Memorial Park of this new development. This project was designed in collaboration with Mark Perdiguerra. Image Above: Entrance View

Grocery Co-Op and Housing Development Senior Project Design
Upon researching site adjacencies and various shopping and housing trends, the project, located on 342 S Broadway St in Downtown LA, consists of a co-operative grocery and both market-rate and low-income housing. The two programs are organized and aligned along a grid informed by housing units and grocery aisles. The form was further developed through a series of shapes rescaled and cropped at each level.
