Week 1 - Studio Journal

To build a stable structure need a strong base and then build as high as possible. However, the higher the tower is, easier to crash. Thus, normally build a round or semicircle base with an archway.

To get the tower higher, the bricks could be put overlapped horizontally. This way is stable enough. However, if we try to deconstruct the tower, it was easy to crash.

In order to avoid this situation, I think the bricks could be set horizontally and vertically. Thus, it would be difficult to deconstruct.

These are other groups' work. For the left one, it's very high enough but might be not much stable because the base is too slender which difficult to hold a big load and keep stiffness and strength. For the right tower, I think that's stable but one thing has to consider is that its base might not be strong enough so that difficult to hold big stress. However, the tower looks pretty good.
