Johnny Turner, a volunteer at the First Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Care Center places items in bags to be distributed to needy families and individuals. The Care Center is one component of a holistic approach the downtown church has undertaken to assist the needy and homeless in its community. Recently, First Baptist became the home to Helping Underserved Belong (HUB), in partnership with the City of Jonesboro, community organizations and faith groups. The primary focus of HUB is to work with “individuals who are ready to make changes in their lives.” Read the story on page 3. Photo by Tim Yarbrough
