The Office of Admissions is committed to making your transition into college easier. Incoming freshmen seeking admission need to submit the following: Admission Checklist Submit official high school transcript or GED scores; Submit ACT, SAT, or ACCUPLACER scores; Submit copy of immunization record documenting two MMR vaccinations. Unconditional Admission Entering freshmen may be admitted unconditionally if they meet the following criteria: Grades Completion of graduation requirements from a public secondary school, private secondary school, or a home school program documenting a minimum 2.0/4.0 cumulative grade point average, and completion of the university’s secondary school core curriculum, OR minimum GED score of 600. Minimum Test Scores ÎÎ Composite ACT score of 19; or ÎÎ Composite SAT score of 990 (1600 scale); or ÎÎ Next-Generation ACCUPLACER composite score of 246 Note: The ACT Writing exam is not required for admission purposes. Core Curriculum A minimum of 22 earned core course credits is required, from grades nine through twelve, for admission purposes. Core courses listed below are required by Act 1290 for unconditional admission. ÎÎ English (4 units)

Admission Applicants Must: ÎÎ Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college verified by an official transcript. ÎÎ Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or a 3.00 on the last 30 hours of undergraduate work or hold a graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution. ÎÎ Request a complete undergraduate official transcript from their bachelor’s awarding institution sent directly to the Graduate College. Mail all materials to the Graduate College. ÎÎ Pay a non-refundable application fee directly to the Graduate College.* ÎÎ Submit copy of immunization record documenting one MMR vaccination. ÎÎ Meet additional admission requirements specified by programs in the graduate catalog (GRE, writing samples, etc.). *The application fee may be applied to defer an application for admission in the same program for up to one (1) calendar year from the original application date.

Making the housing application an online process has made it more convenient for our students. Students can apply to live on-campus 24/7 from anywhere in the world. Before you begin the housing application process please note the following: I. ATU has an on-campus residency requirement A. On-Campus Residency Requirements: i. Single students between the ages of 18 and 21, and with fewer than 60 earned credit hours of college work, who are Russellville campus students are required to live on campus, as space permits, in University owned housing facilities. These students are required to purchase a meal plan unless living in University Commons Apartments, or Vista Place. Exemptions to the On-Campus Residency Requirement include: students living with immediate family (Mother, Father, Sister, Brother) within 30 miles driving distance of the Russellville, Arkansas campus, married students, or students with dependent children. Students under the age of 18 between August 19, 2017 and December 31, 2017 must sign the Arkansas Tech University Waiver and Release of Liability for a Minor Living on Campus prior to being allowed to sign a housing contract and live in On-Campus housing. The Arkansas Tech University Waiver and Release of Liability for a Minor Living on Campus is available through the Office of Residence Life at www.atu.edu/reslife/. Students age 17 or under on or after January 1, 2018 are not permitted to live in University owned housing facilities. B. Ozark Campus Students and On-Campus Residency: i. Ozark campus students may live on campus at the Russellville campus. However, Ozark campus students are not required to live on campus. ii. Ozark campus students who are under the age of 18 between August 19, 2017 and December 31, 2017 must sign the Arkansas Tech University Waiver and Release of Liability for a Minor Living on Campus prior to being allowed to sign a housing contract and live in On-Campus housing. The Arkansas Tech University Waiver and Release of Liability for a Minor Living on Campus is available through the Office of Residence Life at www.atu.edu/reslife/. No other occupants are permitted. Residents of the University Commons Apartments are required to pay a $250.00 security deposit. C. Vista Place Apartments i. To be eligible to be a Resident in Vista Place Apartments, a person must be enrolled in, and remain enrolled in, a minimum of nine (9) undergraduate semester hours each semester or a minimum of six (6) graduate hours each semester. Initial preference for Vista Place Apartment assignments will be given to those students who have earned a minimum of thirty (30) credit hour of college work and have a minimum (2.5) cumulative grade point average. The University reserves the right not to contract with persons who are currently violating or have previously violated the terms and conditions of a housing contract or other University rules or regulations, or who have a past due balance with the University. Meal P l ans and Dining Who Is Required To Have A Meal Plan? All on campus residents, except those living in Vista Place or University Commons Apartments, are required to select a meal plan. Students living off campus may choose a Commuter Meal Plan. All students have until the 5th day of class to change their meal plan through the ResLife Housing Portal. Students may purchase a meal plan at a prorated rate after classes begin. Students who begin their semester on campus with a meal plan, then move off campus, will still be required to keep a meal plan. What is a Meal Trade? Meal trades are designed to offer convenience and variety by allowing students to use meal swipes at Chartwell’s locations other than the Dining Hall. Meal trades may be used between the hours of: 7:30 a.m. 9:30 a.m., 1:01 p.m. - 4:29 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. - midnight. Meal trades count toward available meal swipes. Where to Eat? Freshman Academic Scholarships The application for undergraduate admission serves as the freshman academic scholarship application. There is not a separate scholarship application to complete; however, an early admission status is required.
An early admission file includes an application for undergraduate admission, current high school transcript with a qualifying GPA and ACT/ SAT exam score, and immunization records documenting two MMR vaccinations. The priority scholarship deadline for freshman academic scholarship consideration is November 15, and the final scholarship deadline is February 15. The national February ACT exam scores are the last results accepted for scholarship consideration. Applicants who are awarded during the priority scholarship round and raise their scholarship levels prior to the final scholarship deadline will be considered for an increase to the appropriate award levels prior to second round awards being made. Applicants must be graduating seniors and admitted as a first-time entering undergraduate on the Russellville campus to be considered for an award. Students receiving academic scholarships must be U.S. citizens.
Applicants who live in Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas are considered in-state for tuition purposes. A limited number of out-of-state scholarship awards are made to applicants who live outside of Arkansas and its contiguous states. Transfer Scholarships
The priority scholarship deadline for transfer scholarship consideration is May 1 for the fall term and December 1 for the spring term. Documentation of Phi Theta Kappa membership must be submitted to scholarships@atu.edu prior to the deadline for consideration for a Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship. An early admission status is required for scholarship consideration. An early admission file includes an application for undergraduate admission, transcripts from all colleges attended, and immunization records documenting two MMR vaccinations. Applicants must be transfer students and admitted as an undergraduate on the Russellville campus to be considered for an award. Students receiving transfer scholarships must be U.S. citizens. Applicants who live in Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas are considered in-state for tuition purposes. A limited number of out-of-state scholarship awards are made to applicants who live outside of Arkansas and its contiguous states. Students may receive only one Tech-funded academic scholarship in any semester. Once awarded, a scholarship recipient must be enrolled in a minimum of 15 hours before the scholarship will credit to the student’s account. Financial Aid Financial Aid The primary purpose of student financial aid at Arkansas Tech University is to provide assistance to students who, without aid, would be unable to attend college. All awards are administered by the Financial Aid Office in accordance with state and federal regulations and ATU’s equal educational opportunity policy. Application forms for all types of federal aid may be obtained from the Financial Aid Office or online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available on October 1st.
Apply for ADHE funds (lottery, etc.) through the YOUniversal Scholarship application at scholarships.adhe.edu. Students receiving any institutional scholarship or waiver from ATU must have a FAFSA and all requested documents on file in the Financial Aid Office no later than August 1 of each year.
