Reaching millions of motorists with a simple, yet effective strategy for making the roadways safer for public safety personnel. THE PROBLEM Careless drivers are a leading cause of death for public safety officers. “Proceed with Caution” encourages America’s motorists to use caution when encountering public safety officers on the roadway. Our ongoing nationwide campaign seeks to reverse grim statistics and replace "haste" with "safe" - helping to restore civility to the nation’s roadways. The campaign also directs citizens to visit us online where they will find additional information highlighting the dangers officers face, along with safety strategies for motorists.

Few individuals better understand the police funeral and its potential power for healing than does John Cooley, a 30 year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department, where he coordinated over 80 police funeral and memorial services.
HEAR JOHN COOLEY IN PERSON Through his seminar, “Healing Power of Ceremony and the Police Funeral”, Cooley shares his extensive experience and people-oriented insights. Held across the country, attendees are given a rare opportunity to focus on sensitive issues that are seldom discussed and often overlooked by agencies amidst a line-of-duty death crisis. The Seminars not only guide participants through the myriad of decisions involved in developing their own comprehensive “Line-of-Duty Death Protocol”, John also motivates participants to take action. “It is vital to develop a Line-of-Duty Death Protocol well in advance of a crisis. Few agency or department administrators have been through a line-of-duty death as active participants, and most funeral homes know even less. But a poorly executed police funeral is an embarrassment to the city, the department, and the officer’s family.”
“My seminars reveal not only the challenges of managing a police funeral, but also their enormous potential to heal survivors and ennoble the law enforcement profession.” John Cooley

We are building an archive of wisdom. The first of its kind, this archive draws upon the knowledge and experiences of one of American’s most cherished resources – our police chaplains. The Police Chaplain Project is a 10 year initiative to digitally preserve the words and wisdom of America's police chaplains. Featuring some of the most revered and accomplished police chaplains of the past 50 years, this ever expanding video archive preserves ideas and knowledge that lead to learning, action, and positive change. USES OF CONTENT The archive provides source material for educational programs that support the law enforcement community. Additionally digital content is archived for future generations of chaplains and historians as part of an effort to chronicle the history and evolution of the police chaplaincy in America.

SURVIVOR NETWORK is a private corner of the Internet where survivors can find words of hope from America’s top police chaplains and kindred spirits from within the survivor community. Harnessing the Internet’s unique ability to connect people to content, SURVIVOR NETWORK can reach those who might not otherwise seek help – a slain officer’s parents, grown children, or close friends and fellow officers within the department – individuals whose grief might otherwise go unresolved. Accessible around the clock, THE SURVIVOR NETWORK is a tool for filling the silence that often surrounds grief, providing support when people need it the most – especially during those critical hours immediately following the funeral or memorial service when no primary support is available or practical.
KINDRED SPIRITS Additionally, the SURVIVOR NETWORK features the testimony of other survivors -- kindred spirits who can speak to other survivors with an authority and conviction only furnished through common experience.
“The potential of the SURVIVOR NETWORK is way beyond church and religion. It has a sense of God breathing in it. The scriptures speak about the Spirit of God being like the wind, unseeable yet very real. That's one of the marks of God on this process. It pulls people towards the objects of God's affection, people who are suffering and grieving. ~ Chaplain Steve Rekedal
The Junior Police Academy is built on a simple, yet powerful foundation: when law enforcement officers and young people are brought together, great things start to happen! Kids need a jolt of reality and someone to look up to, and police officers need something untarnished by the world that's still worth fighting for. Together they generate a uniquely American brand of idealism that is essential to both liberty and democracy – an enthusiasm for justice! For those of you just starting out, take heart, you are not alone. An extraordinary group of police officers are dedicated to your success. Over the past 20 years, officers from across the country have lent their time and talent to this organization and the development of this program. They have paved the way for officers like yourself to duplicate their success and make that powerful connection with the youth in your community.
