�光的構想��建� 傳承重�未來價值

� 事 長 序

位居�岸��位置 ,��完整閩南文�的金門正從歷史戰�島��轉

首�的�動構思許久 ,終於�夠��到�上鳳珠的⻘��器展出 。在

型成為��文�品�島 ,繼打�國家建�金質�的金門�獅�購物中

�的作品上 ,看到的是大自�的神秘 、生命產生的物質 、�物的原�

��場� ,企���場���享�來可繼續傳承的重�文�價值 。

現 。我們看到的 ,是�對於古典東方�學的落實 ,��於在傳�上�

心� ,我們��日本弱建�大師隈研吾為金門打�一座國����的

《洸�》的發想�源於一個��: 物�的生意�� ,是源於光 。��� 隈研吾討論 ,激盪出�個��視野的展��間 。�往展��間都是封

閉性的單一白色盒子 ,洸�打破�個�定�� ,�用光線間隔�間 , 視覺上的��讓�間的�用更為�活; 洸�的展�設計���用光的

�性: 室��户外的�間使用大�玻��� ,援引自�光線讓生�滲

��來; 不同顏色的光牆變幻�間�性 ,展出的作品因為各式光線的

照�和輔助 ,表��變 ,彷彿�了��的生命 。《洸�》本⾝就是一個

�彩絕倫的��品 ,但當作品�駐展出 ,它又�夠成功��出作品的

�量 。在線��暈�的顏色交疊中 ,對於自��色的�學��於焉浮

�; 更重�的 ,是�����的來源 ,是我們共同的自�母� 。�的

�作思路�同中國傳���一路之傳承 ,神�而跡� ,�而自立其法 。

洸�����享的�作即��上老師作品 ,回往�去 ,立足現在 ,放 眼未來 ,是可做為代代傳承的未來傳家寶 ,��現的是��彌彰的文 ��寶 。

《洸�》��上鳳珠的結合 ,期���給金門在� ,和�門一�的朋友 們 ,一��會台開對於�想實踐的軌跡

�凡價值 。

Introducing the Concept of Light into Architecture to Pass on Important Future Values

Preface

A cross-strait hub with well-preserved Minnan culture, Kinmen is gradually transforming from an island known for its past as a historical battlefield, to an island with an exquisite cultural creative brand. After building Wind Lion Plaza, which won the National Golden Award for Architecture, we invited Japanese ‘weak architecture’ master Kengo Kuma to build an international-level arts venue for Kinmen, in hope that it can share important cultural values that can be passed on in the future. “Gallery of Light” was inspired by this concept: The vibrancy of objects stems from light. After a few discussions with Kengo Kuma, we came up with this exhibition venue, which has a brand new vision. Exhibition venues of the past were all closed-off, monotonous white boxes. The Gallery of Light breaks away from this concept, using light to separate areas, resulting in visual extension that creates a more flexible way of using spaces. The exhibition design of the Gallery of Light fully utilizes the characteristics of light: Indoor and outdoor areas are separated by large panes of glass, allowing natural light to filter through organically. Different colored walls of light transform the venue’s atmosphere. Shone upon and aided by different lightings, exhibited pieces will display different expressions as if coming to life. On its own, “Gallery of Light” is a stunning work of art, but when exhibited, it can also bring out the pieces’ extraordinary value.

The venue’s first exhibition was deliberated upon for a long time. Finally, we were able to invite Paloma Chang to exhibit her ceramic pieces. In her work, one can see the mystery of nature, materials created by life, and a primeval energy that exists in everything. Amidst the intersecting lines and colors, the green aesthetics of nature shine through. We see her use classical eastern aesthetics, without shying away from being innovative with traditions. More importantly, the source of her inspiration is our common Mother Nature. Her creative thought process is just like the long-standing legacy of Chinese traditional arts, fulfilling different ideas and forming rules of its own. The masterpieces that the Gallery of Light will share from now on will be just like the works of Paloma Chang, reminiscent of the past, sure-footed in the present, and looking towards the future, works that can be passed down as heirlooms, and will be presented as cultural treasures of our time. The collaboration between “Gallery of Light” and Paloma Chang hopes to provide local residents of Kinmen, as well as our friends from Xiamen, a place to experience TLDC’s path to realizing dreams.

瓷器不像繪畫或雕塑、裝置,難以掌握

Porcelain is unlike painting or sculpturing, or even installations; it is difficult to control.

創作完,需要放著讓時間醞釀

After completing a work of porcelain, it needs to be left on its own and given time to mature.

進入窯中,由溫度決定最後呈現的方式

When it enters the kiln, the temperature determines its final appearance.

我能夠把握的只有3成,剩下的7成是有難以預料的 就像人生一般

I only have control over 30% of the outcome; the other 70% is difficult to predict. It is just like life: sometimes you need to calm down, or leave the rest to God, and learn to let go.

有時後必須靜下來,或交給老天,學習放手

Paloma Chang was born in Chishang Township, Taitung, Taiwan in 1975. She settled in Paris in 2004, and since 1997, has been travelling and creating art as she visited primitive indigenous

關於洸� 台開�事長邱�生發想,日本「弱建�」大師隈研吾�刀設 計,洸�位於�獅�購物中心北棟三�,�面積約300坪,

�「光」命名,源於室���明���索交織成一���� �屏,再利用光線投�照明形成光牆,打破傳�展��間的 白盒子牆面,間隔出展�、會議�間、��櫃台、輕⻝�、

�吧���功��域。室外�間大�的玻��户和室外視線 �隔絕,户外�臺��不規則的木頭線�,�發和��東方

禪意,結合水、光線���,讓人�覺到傳�建�的溫�� �。繼�得國家建�金質�的�獅�購物中心,台開�團再

一��現國��生活質�的人文���。

Conceptualized by Chairman of Taiwan Land Development Corp, Chiu Fu-sheng, and designed by Japan's master architect of "weak architecture" Kengo Kuma, the Gallery of Light is located on the third floor of the north tower of Wind Lion Plaza, with a total area of around 991 square meters. The name is based on "light", which refers to light projected onto the organic screens woven from transparent nylon strings, forming walls of light. The light walls have helped the gallery to break free from the traditional white-cube box of exhibition spaces, by dividing it into a multifunctional space made up of an exhibition area, conference area, reception counter, snack area, and bar area. The large outdoor glass windows provide a barrier-free view to the outside; the outdoor patio area uses irregular lines of wood to express a Japanese and Oriental Zen atmosphere where water, light, and air are incorporated to let one experience the homely aesthetics of traditional buildings. Following the Wind Lion Plaza, which had won the National Golden Award for Architecture, the Taiwan Land Development Corp has once again presented a new cultural landmark showcasing the international standard of lifestyle aesthetics.
