WELCOME LETTER
Dear Fellow Chamber Members,
The Chamber’s foundation is built around one simple, immeasurably impactful word - Together. We are stronger as an organization and as a community when we work together and support each other. Look no further than our Chamber members to see how togetherness creates success.
We have businesses small and large working together, building relationships and delivering results that create everlasting legacies in this community. From the partnership between the Cordish Companies and the Texas Rangers Baseball Club creating amazing spaces in our Entertainment District like Texas Live!, Spark and One Rangers Way to our small businesses who also team up to create good in the community. A great example would be the Kobty family from Prince Lebanese Grill partnering with Tarrant County College District’s culinary arts program to provide an aspiring chef with a scholarship.
The Chamber Executive Committee discussed the strengths and weaknesses of our knew to be true. Our greatest asset, as an organization, is the passion and commitment that our members have for each other, for our chamber and for our community.
As a Chamber, we decided to shift more resources to provide direct value to you, our members. We want to elevate your experience to aid in the creation of more partnerships and to deepen existing relationships. We want to ensure our community’s tightly woven tapestry continues to grow and tell fantastic stories.
tapestry, weave in new colors by bringing in new businesses that represent our vast and diverse community. They want to ensure everyone is engaged with all we have Alliance or connect with our weekly networking groups that meet 48 weeks a year or just engage with us online through our blog, community calendar and member marketplace, our goal is to bring members to the forefront.
Our future is indeed bright, and we have taken measurable steps to achieve the mission of our organization, “Together, we champion economic and community

Designated a Cultural District by the State of Texas in 2016, Downtown draws locals and visitors year-round with an immersive mix of headliners, blossoming local music scene, top-notch theatrical productions, compelling visual arts exhibitions and hands-on arts experiences.
The Levitt Pavilion, Arlington Music Hall, Theatre Arlington, UTA and other performing arts venues throughout the district regularly attract visitors from around the region and beyond.
A cavalcade of talented performers -- including LeAnn Rimes, Marin Morris, Shoji Tabuchi, Blake Shelton, Lou Diamond Phillips, Persis Forster, Morgan Woodward, and Lee Ann Womack -- began their careers on Downtown Arlington stages. Even 16-time Grammy Award winning artist Kirk Franklin has his recording studio in Downtown.
Downtown’s visual arts scene is anchored by renowned exhibitions at the Arlington Museum of Art, plus galleries, festivals, a growing number of colorful murals and other public art installations throughout the district. Meanwhile, historical markers, iconography, exhibitions and Knapp Heritage Park invite visitors to interact with the city’s past.

With a brand-new streetscaping the length of Abram Street, and Front Street transforming into a mixed-use neighborhood, more and more people are calling Downtown home. The area’s proximity to the City’s Entertainment District to the north and Shopping District to the south also make it a convenient location to work, live, shop and enjoy free time. But it’s Downtown Arlington’s unique personality – a mix of urban lifestyle, university town and small-town friendliness –that gives it such broad appeal.

SETTING US APART
There are tons of advantages in joining the Arlington ISD. While we know choosing a school district may be a tough choice, we know the results in the Arlington ISD are real for several reasons.

Athletics? We’ve got that, too. The reigning district champs in football, boys basketball, girls basketball, volleyball, wrestling and baseball are all Arlington ISD schools.
With a highly engaged faculty and an array of learning opportunities that foster each student’s unique interests and talents, Arlington ISD’s goal is to have 100% of AISD students graduate exceptionally prepared for college, career and citizenship. The Arlington ISD also helps students prepare for their careers by providing innovative learning environments and incorporating relevant industry experience.

WHERE THE POTENTIAL GETS REAL PREPARING OUR STUDENTS
The Arlington ISD mission is to empower and engage all students to be contributing, responsible citizens striving for their maximum potential through relevant, innovative and rigorous learning experiences. One of the best ways to do that is to prepare them for their future by helping them articulate and achieve their dreams. In the fall of 2017, the Arlington ISD Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center (CTC) opened. The CTC is committed to academic excellence by providing classwork that provides relevant industry experience that promotes opportunities for personal growth and student success.

The Arlington ISD opened its second early college high school in the fall of 2019, with Arlington College and Career High School coming on board. The Arlington ISD focuses on well-rounded students, which is why more than 70 student-athletes participated in National Signing Day in February of 2020 and the district was named one of the Best Communities for Music Education for the 16th time in 2020.

district starting this fall.
The district is dedicated to the future as evidence by the $966 million bond that was passed by voters in the fall. That bond will continue to build on the 2014 bond that led to Multipurpose Activity Centers at all six traditional high schools and the new arts and athletics complex that is slated to open in the fall. What does going to one of our two early college high schools do for you? Well students graduate not just with high school diplomas but also their associates degree, taking care of 60 hours of college for free. And if a career path is more for you, the Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center has you covered with a program just for you. Cosmetology? You’re covered there. Welding? Got that, too. The Arlington ISD also started the At-Home Learning Hub on March 17, the second day of the closure. The Hub allowed students to take online classes in everything from Pre-K to advanced academics. The district also distributed more than 20,000 technology devices to students to continue their learning at home.
ON THE HORIZON
Thanks to voters in the city, a new $966 million bond was passed in 2019. That bond paves the way for the district to take care of the Arlington ISD students of the future. What does the bond entail?
For starters four aging district schools will be rebuilt. Also the district’s commitment to Pre-K will get a boost with additions and renovations for full day Pre-K classrooms.

PUBLIC POLICY
EDUCATION & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
The Greater Arlington Chamber promotes policies that are fundamental to achieving a consistent, high quality stream of entrepreneurs and employees to support economic and community prosperity in greater Arlington.
Workers in Texas are a part of an ever-changing landscape of necessary talents and skills. In order to foster economic development and support growing businesses in the greater Arlington community, it’s imperative to appropriately fund schools, programs and initiatives that will enable us to prepare the future workforce for the jobs of tomorrow.
AMPLIFY THE VOICE OF BUSINESS
The Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce works diligently to amplify the voice of our 1,200+ members in all levels of government. Whether at the local, state or national level, Texas have pro-business governments, allowing us to be the leading economy in the nation.
The Greater Arlington Chamber has taken steps to increase our voice by forming the Coalition of East Tarrant Chambers.
these Chambers have similar pro-business goals. When we speak for the coalition, we represent 5,000+ Tarrant County businesses.
During each Texas Legislative session, the Coalition, in partnership with the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, hosts Tarrant County Days at the Capitol. This event gives Chamber Austin and directly voice their opinions.
In addition, our Public Policy Committee regularly has elected hosts various events throughout the year focusing on legislation and government relations.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
In the last 15 years, Texas has been ranked number one by Site Selection Magazine for success in bringing new businesses to the state. This success is the result of a combination of factors including economic development tools. The Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce supports maintaining all of the economic development tools currently available to attract and retain businesses. We also work to bring businesses to the table with all levels of government ensuring projects get
The Greater Arlington Chamber is also a member of the Metro Eight Chambers of Commerce. These are the Chambers representing business interests in the eight largest cities in Texas. Tarrant County is more conservative than most metropolitan areas in Texas and so are the interests of our business owners. Notwithstanding, the Metro Eight Chambers can lobby for three or four areas of concern that all business interests in the state have in common. When the Metro Eight speaks with one voice we represent approximately 12,500 businesses with 300,000+ employees.
The Greater Arlington Chamber is also a member of the North Texas Commission, a group of more than 200 government, civic and business entities promoting the development of the 11-county region.
Workforce development begins with early childhood education. During the last Texas legislative session, the Chamber voiced all school districts across the state. House Bill 3 (HB3), a Legislature in 2019, ultimately passed without a single No
vote and includes the Pre-K funding along with more money for Texas classrooms, increases teacher compensation, reduces recapture and cuts local property taxes for Texas taxpayers. HB 3 is one of the most transformative Texas education bills in recent history. The bill is the result of months of work beginning with the Texas Commission on Public School Finance and culminating in bipartisan work between the members of the Texas House and Senate. The Chamber supports fully funding HB3 in the coming legislative session.
TRANSPORTATION & INFRASTRUCTURE
Moving employees and goods and services around is critical to the success of business. The Greater Arlington Chamber supports policies that ensure adequate funding for transportation infrastructure to maintain congestion at the current level or reduce it. The Chamber has a history of supporting practical, leading-edge transit solutions for the area. We work cooperatively with city government, the Tarrant
CONVENTION & TOURISM
Greater Arlington has major tourist and convention magnets, and our economy prospers when those venues bring people from outside the area to spend money at our local businesses and generate tax revenue for our cities. The Greater Arlington Chamber supports policies and spending that encourages growth in tourism and convention business in Texas.
HEALTHCARE
The Greater Arlington area has excellent healthcare infrastructure including a public health system with good coverage throughout the county. Healthcare infrastructure is one of the critical elements considered by people and businesses when evaluating relocation. The Greater Arlington Chamber supports creative and technology based approaches to improving healthcare in the state.
To maintain the “Texas Miracle” economic success, we recognize the need to create an infrastructure that supports our needs today and for generations to come.

EDUCATION & WORKFORCE
ENTREPRENEURSHIP ECOSYSTEM
Arlington has a burgeoning network of meetups, co-working spaces and other entrepreneurial activities. The Chamber, in collaboration with the University of Texas at Arlington, the Arlington Independent School District and the City of Arlington, established a new entrepreneurship committee tasked with creating a world-class entrepreneurship ecosystem.
DEVELOP THE COMMUNITY’S FUTURE
The Chamber’s mission - Together, We Champion Economic and Community Prosperity - is supported by four core strategies including developing the community’s future.
We are the catalyst for the educational and business communities to come together to discuss industry needs, solutions. Our partnership with AISD creates a felixible environment to provide valuable experiences and opportunities to impact as many businesses and students as possible.
We recognize student development is only half of the equation. Through our Partners in Education (PIE) we focus on connecting the business community to the Arlignton ISD
through our programs and initiatives. Establishing these relationships serves as a foundation to create open lines of communications which has the power to directly impact
Whether businesses are seeking to build a talent pipeline, give back to the community or gain social capital, PIE gives them a seat at the table to develop programs that are mutually
that by reaching local talent early results in the best ROI for cultivating a talent piepline.
PARTNERS IN EDUCATION ( PIE )
Partners in Education is an advisory council of the Chamber that is guided on the principles of enhancing academic achievement, developing college readiness, encouraging workforce preparedness and cultivating leadership, citizenship and responsibility.
PIE shapes greater Arlington’s future workforce through career exploration and mentorship programs and initiatives
that have continuous touch points throughout elementary, junior high and high school.
Through the support of the business community, our programs and initiatives keep students of all ages engaged in the educational process while providing growth opportunities. It is by investing in our students that we are able to create the type of future workforce our community needs.
CAREER EXPLORATION TO INTERNSHIPS
PIE exclusively serves the AISD to expose students to various industries and career opportunities. Through our PIE programs and initiatives, we implement workforce development strategies in K-12 education to help AISD achieve their goal that 100% of their students will graduate exceptionally prepared for college, career and citizenship.
mentorship beginning in elementary school and ending with an internship during the student’s senior year.
We are able to cultivate successful partnerships by leveraging the AISD Dan Dipert Career+Technical Center (CTC), which recognizes all students are not college bound and provides opportunities for students to gain one of 34 industry
Our community is fortunate to have strong strategic partners to support a successful entrepreneurial culture. The entrepreneurial pipeline begins in the third grade through a curriculum-based contest implemented district-wide in partnership with the AISD. UTA continues that pipeline by entrepreneurship organizations to host pitch competitions, networking events and mini start-up accelerator camps. We are well positioned to create a uniquely synergistic ecosystem community.
