The French who taught that: “as the liver secretes bile, so does the brain secrete thought”, retorting with reductio ad absurdum, so: ‘Creativity and Philosophy … are a product of the small intestines. Laissez Faire is an acquired taste, but we have the knack for attracting geniuses and freethinking artists to present their work and innovations. Never before was I in such company: the deepest philosophers and artists in this land of learning were right here. We never know whom might pluck a copy of LAISSEZ FAIRE from our stands. So receiving a call from one of South London’s most decorated radio station: Raiders Broadcast, was a surprise. The tables were truly turned. Braving public self abuse and humiliation we clocked an hour on their precious air-time and would like to thank them for the experience. (On the subject of our mag stands, whoever generously helped themselves to our beautiful plastic box in Earls Court: we WANT it back!) On the business front, we quickly learned that we knew less about the world than a blind girl at an art gallery. To run a business, you need more than a PC and large kahunas. There are tax returns and copyright issues too. Sod it, we’ll sort out the small print later and ploughed ahead making cold monetary calculations, the sort that would give Alan Sugar the shivers. A timely apology to ‘CRACK’ magazine for any overlap in creative formats is needed here. Before stepping into this issue’s Aladdins Cave, I’ll leave you with one thought. A piece of human brain, the size of a grain of sand, contains one hundred thousand neurons, two million axons, and one billion synapses, all talking to each other. The number of combinations and permutations of activity that are theoretically possible in each of our heads exceeds the number of elementary particles in the universe.
