DRISHTIKONE A New Perspective


Drishtikone, a fashion forecasting initiative. Every culture has got its own independent identity. Drishtikone would be providing customized forecast solutions to countries keeping their traditions and crafts intact and enabling futuristic database. The services would in turn create a scope for revival of dying crafts for the niche as well as global market.


Now, that apparel retail and couture, products, food, textile, FMCG refer to forecasting brands that study the fashion capitals mainly, and provide services based on that. Hence creating a vacuum for customized forecast services for a particular country. There is sea-difference in the socio-cultural perspective across the Globe, thereby creating the opportunity for such a venture.

Even the colour pallete for food is different. The picture above is a NorthIndian Thali and below is Italian. So does it vary in every other sector.

The sentiments vary across the globe. Each and every culture has got its own niche.


Few of the Current Fashion forecasting services available, but none of them provide customized trend forecast for a particular culture or region. They work on global trends, hence the market studied are mostly the fashion capitals of the world.


FASHION FORECASTING SERVICE FOR INDIA So far, there is no specific forecasting site for India per se. Therefore, a one of the biggest retail market in the world yet lacks the availability of a trend forecast service which rightly studies its consumers and surveys the patterns.

The Indian Retail still uses Global Forecasts done on the basis of trends ongoing in the West, whereas there is still a lot from the Indian streets and crafts to offer to its upcoming trend and fashion.


In the apparel sector, India has always had its legacy and indigenous market. It has evolved over time and influences have been traced over the years with increasing foreign invasions, colonization and recently globalization.


Colors, vibrancy, motifs, patterns, silhouettes play key role in structuring and stating Indian Street Fashion



Different influences that trickle up the ladder from need to fashion.



Therefore, a huge market awaits to be tapped. Enhancing the craft revival ( a global concern now) and creating value for the regional products and industries. Organizing the various fashion blogs and organizing them to a single database for the manufacturers to churn and drive the fashion that is indigenous to its culture.

Yang Liu was born in China, but has lived in German since she was 14. A celebrated designer, Liu recently released a graphic exhibit that illustrates her observations about differences between East (China) and West (Germany). The exhibit has been re-interpreted as a series of Infographics.
