13 2021 Celebration of Education Gala, a black-tie event and fundraiser for the Cherokee County Educational Foundation, will be held virtually. Last year’s gala raised $80,000; all proceeds are funneled to the students and staff of the Cherokee County School District through grant programs. The Cherokee Music Teachers Association will hold a meeting at Reinhardt’s Falany Performing Arts Center at 10 a.m., followed by a program on Russian Romanticism, presented by Dr. Raffi Besalyn, assistant professor of piano at Georgia State University. 26 A golf tournament fundraiser for the Woodstock Chapter of the Marine Corps League will be held at Cobblestone Golf Club, 4200 Nance Road, Acworth. Proceeds go to scholarship funds that allow youth to pursue a college education.
