Pr oject Des cr iption: I. S. A. _ Intellectual School of Architecture, is a transforamable environment that adapts and transforms to support multi-functional interaction and improve with the exoteric aptitude of architecture. This design project investigates how transparency coupled together with transforming spaces can break the architectural field from holding itself unapproachable and bringing it to an approachable s t a t e.

Pr oject Des cr iption: Located at a post war zone in homs Syria, this suspended Middle School takes the form of a “ Burqa in order to bring the mothers perspective to the students, who have lost their families during the war. Additionally, the burqua approach allows the school to hover obscurely over the post war zone. The design implements a dialogue between old vs. new with an exterior shell that blends in with the existing old. This approach is meant to distract attention away from the school.

BURSA A New A pproach to Sur face Folding
M ater ials and Pr oces s es of Building Second year, Fall 2014
Advis ing Pr ofes s or : Cassie Hughes
S ite: Pasadena City College
D igital M edia: Rhino, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop..
Pr oject Des cr iption: Our group gre fascinated with phenomenon which is represented by folding and applying twnsion to the material. Fascinating and elegant shapes may be folded from a single planar shetof materialwithout stretching, cutting, or tearing, if one incorporates cur ved foldes into the design. We present an optimization-based computational framework for design and physical reconstruction of sur faces which can be produced by cur ved folding. Our work not only contributes to applications in architecture and design but also the phenomena of sur face folding.

Pr oject Des cr iption: The Sunclaire pavilion is a built project at the Art Center college of Design. In this design studio, students were given the task to measure the structure and then draw it in autocad. As well as the drawings students were assigned to build the model of the pavilion on rhino and further produce section and plan drawings.

Pr oject Des cr iption: This project embodies the study of the various crucial architectural spaces in an architectural project. The relashionships of adjacent and public spaces, together with circulation, are heavily explored and analyzed. The study of spaces are then incorporated with numerous model building strategies to determine and present these different spaces physically.
