MALCOLM MORAN CURRACHS
Malcolm Moran has spent the past decade painting Currachs. Moran first discovered Currachs in Ireland when he was doing an art fellowship there. He awoke one morning and looked out of his studio door over the vast expanse of the Atlantic. Between the dots of islands in his view were these tiny boats bouncing about in the sea. From that moment, the Currach became his muse. This boats represent the tenacity and fearlessness of the human spirit. Over the years, the shape has evolved but the spirit remains. Moran makes these boats in oil, monotype and collage.
The Barn @ Downing Yudain is honored and excited to be exhibiting these beautiful works together.
