Tapestry

David and I are delighted to be presenting Penny Putnam’s second exhibition at the Barn. This series is more directly related to landscape from her previous show. Maybe it is the horizontal format, the picture plane division or just the way the viewer perceives them, regardless, the landscape resonates. Yet, they are in the truest sense abstractions. Like so many artists before her, Penny starts with an idea, puts it on paper or canvas, builds up the surface, then scapes it off in places and adds in other. One can think of Turner or so many abstract expressionists in her process but they are uniquely her own.
We are honored to have this glorious tapestry of work.
