The work in this grouping are part of larger series which we will be featuring in a solo exhibition, Dissolve into Stillness, in the Barn @ Downing Yudain in September 2023.

These works are unique in their force. The swimmer pushes through the abyss towards something, not searching, but moving forward through strength and power.

We are delighted to have a great selection of Gorman’s animal sculptures.

Gorman expresses his desire to push the traditional notion of what constitutes beauty and art:

“The first I made ended up being made out of rags and wires and wax and really funky materials, because I was just sick of the art world using really fancy materials. I believed things can be made from just about anything.” Gorman’s potent imagination transforms those apparently worthless odds and ends from garbage-destined to gallery-bound.

Moran has been making paintings of the Irish boat, Curragh for over a decade. This boat represent the tenacity and fearlessness of the human spirit. Over the years, the shape has evolved but the spirit remains.

Malcolm’s work with people and with animals represents their character, tenacity and humor.
