FrontBox is a street front project room attached to ST PAUL St Gallery One on 40 St Paul Street. As an enclosed window space, the site is available for viewing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. FrontBox’s programme runs parallel to activities in ST PAUL St Galleries One, Two and Three.

***OPPORTUNITY***Call for Proposals: Gallery Three and FrontBox 2013 Gallery Three is ST PAUL St Gallery’s off site gallery located at 39 Symonds St. The deadline for proposals for exhibitions in Gallery Three for projects starting in late April is March 3, 2013

The exhibition will include a variety of media including performance, sound works, video, painting and sculpture. The artists are interested in critical debate, community engagement, and – in the spirit of Robert Rauschenberg – slippage between art and life.

Care can be defined as the provision of what is necessary for the health, welfare, maintenance, and protection of someone or something. Taking care can also denote the serious attention or consideration given to doing something well. The Care Factor exhibition brings together ten artists working in the field of photography, who demonstrate care, both in their choice of subject matter and in their craft. These caring and careful artists give us reason to take pause and reflect on humanity.

Sixty years on, the borrowed title serves as a starting point for the exhibiting artists to look at queer notions of love. Ephemeral and abstract, personal and universal, social and political, love comes to the fore. SHOULD LOVE COME FIRST? engages with the complexities of love.

In 1951 recently married American artist Robert Rauschenberg made SHOULD LOVE COME FIRST? as he commenced a love affair with fellow male artist Cy Twombly. The original artwork featured the artist’s footprint opposite a diagram showing the male steps for the waltz.

In association with the Auckland Pride festival Artstation is proud to present a group show including the work of Sarah Murphy, Ponti, Deborah Rundle and Layne Waerea.
