AN AESTHETIC VIBRATION. THE ART OF FABIO BAGGIO (BAJO). (...) The stroke of the artist is meaningful, it initiates and promotes a cognitive and communicative interaction, the result of the need to convey feelings, emotions, ideas. In his works, Bajo imbues signs and weaving marks with great strength, revealing a remarkable ability to place the object in the pure space of the imagination, even when it is a portrait, perhaps especially when a portrait. His works of this pictorial kind in which we find subjects of great expressiveness, are almost indecipherable and at times, enigmatic. The artist, with extraordinary creative vitality, and in the name of the most absolute spontaneity and immediacy, both pertaining to content and formality, creates a complex interplay of references, in which the graphic sign, the color, but also the light, shadows and reflections appear to develop their own independent path, setting forth images that materialize on the canvas. In his paintings, color is treated with absolute freedom and exuberance. His strokes are never random and with their lines and color they arouse a visual short-circuit that passes through the consciousness itself of the pictorial gesture.

I N T R ODUC E S:

(...) Bright colors delimited by bold strokes, by lines that make his artwork vibrant, of great aesthetic value, where the color becomes a symbol of inner restlessness. It is in this sense that we may trace elements belonging to Nordic Expressionism where issues of existential distress, psychological anguish, a sense of failure and difficulty in achieving the idea of “infinite” often prevail. But, beyond these various references, it must be said that the work of Bajo is not bound to a single style or method or even a movement. He breathes new life into previous intents, this time with “other” elements, finding ever new “alien worlds” to represent and communicate. For him, the face is not simply a part of the body, but it acquires a narrative role in that it “reveals” not only what a person is, but also what they would like to be. In his artistic path, Bajo does not avoid experimentation, indeed, he engages possible new languages, seeking out a graphical form that is more pure and further away from the matter, approaching a kind of graffiti art, where the force of the sign expresses the instinctivity and energy of the creative act.

In the paintings of Bajo, imagination is never vague or indefinite. There always exists always a close dialogue between the need for communication and the pictorial solutions, searching for the unknown, for this integration between the reality of nature and man which is within him and he is able to master.
