Throughout the years, EOG Resources Trinidad Limited’s (EOG Trinidad) “World of Work” Internship Programme has successfully nurtured and empowered young people, exposing them to opportunities in the oil and gas industry, while effectively bolstering tomorrow’s global manpower pool. Dozens of university students have benefitted from industry training and involvement at EOG Trinidad’s offices in Port of Spain.

EOG Trinidad has a vibrant Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme that supports the environment, local talent, students, and organizations that are actively involved in the improvement of life for those in need. EOG Trinidad’s CSR commitment extends to the “World of Work” Internship Programme by having interns take part in the company’s CSR initiatives as a mandatory component of their learning. In this way, future professionals are exposed to the importance of good corporate citizenship.

Students Speak The internship with EOG Resources gave me a chance to experience a dynamic work space which is cultivated by keen and driven staff at the organisation. Perhaps the most invaluable element of EOG’s internship is its ethos of corporate social responsibility. All interns came together under the tenets of team work and the pursuit of a common good to raise funds for those in need. This venture not only provided for endless fun and friendships to be built, but instilled within all EOG’s interns the value of working together to help others.

This was my second year doing an internship with EOG Resources. As expected, I was able to learn new concepts in my field of work as well as develop new friendships with the other interns. The staff at EOG are very welcoming and helpful and were happy to take the time to explain their role and responsibilities within the organisation. Part of our internship programme involved raising funds to build a house for a family in need. I thoroughly enjoyed the fundraising activities but the best part was seeing how happy this made the family that benefitted from the project. Working at EOG has been an amazing experience that I will never forget.

This internship has truly been a once in a lifetime experience for me. It has tested and developed both my technical and interpersonal skills and I left the EOG programme a better, well-rounded individual because of the lessons that I have learnt. My experience at EOG Resources was invaluable. This is my second consecutive year working with the company as an intern. I have met many warm and caring people who have made the workplace like a second home.
