John Goodyear is an internationally recognized artist who has lived and worked in New Jersey for nearly half a century. A former professor at Rutgers University, he has taught countless young artists and worked with a long list of distinguished colleagues, all the while maintaining a rich and varied art practice. Throughout his long career Goodyear has experimented with a broad range of processes and materials including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, light and optics and even heat. His paintings and constructions investigate the experience of seeing by incorporating shifting illusions and elements of chance. John Goodyear: Shifting Views will unite the artist’s ground-breaking work from the 1960s with some of his recent related works.
