THE DRAMA

Revisiting the whole series, it’s fun to see how things developed

Sometimes stories seemed to come out of nowhere—a lunchtime wedding or Research Meghan crawling on the subway tracks (go visit Issue 26 right now—her piece is amazing)—while other times the repeat appearances of certain topics are the story.

Tom shared Howling-wolf T-shirts reviews with ADW in Issue 4. Then we had to share that we might have beat New York on that story in Issue 5. Then 20 issues later, the howling-wolf T-shirt is back because we spotted it on Dwight in an episode of The Office.

Much more exciting was when Anthony killed a rat at Tom and Amy’s apartment. The story is stand alone high drama, but it was the second time ADW had a rat on the cover.

The quieter drama was when Intern Sandy went to Mexico during the H1-N1 outbreak in Issue 1. Then the office closed for deep cleaning due to H1-N1 in Issue 8—closer to the time WHO declared it a pandemic. Then Sandy makes the cover of Issue 9 for her farewell. I’m sure they’re all unrelated but it’s fun to speculate.
