Crystal Palace Had NO NEED OF A PRINCE
Stylish characters swinging into action (and some high school drama)
The most anticipated new toy line of 2015 has to be DC Super Hero Girls. Mattel billed it as “an exciting new universe of Super Heroic storytelling that helps build character and confidence, and empowers girls to discover their true potential” and it 100% delivered. Aimed at girls 6 to 12 and featuring DC Comics’ powerful and diverse lineup of female characters in a new approachable artistic style, each character has a unique storyline where she has to discover (or nurture) her new abilities. With figures ranging from 12-inch fashion dolls (ala Barbie) to 8-inch action figures to Lego Friends-style collectibles, there are figures for everyone at multiple price points. NYCC had a great first look at the figures in the Crystal Palace. This line is sure to be a huge hit. -Luis

SUPER READY
An in-person look at Bruce Wayne’s attempt to stop Superman after he devastated Metropolis— and how Superman might not be the only person with special powers
Ever since the logo popped up on screen at SDCC14, one of the most anticipated films of 2015 was Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Anticipation only heightened when we saw the first look at Batman’s Dark Knight Returns-esque armor. To say I’m looking forward to this film is an understatement. The DC booth provided a sneak peek at Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman costume as well. I cannot wait to see how the rest of the Big Seven fit into this story. -Luis
