E
n el centro de la Teoría del Caos está la fascinante idea de que el orden y el caos no siempre son diametralmente opuestos. Los sistemas caóticos son una mezcla íntima de los dos: desde el exterior muestran un comportamiento impredecible y caótico, pero exponen los funcionamientos internos y descubren un conjunto perfectamente determinista de ecuaciones exactas.
El efecto mariposa es el tema más popular de la teoría del caos, que Konrad Lorenz planteó para mostrar cómo la más pequeña de las diferencias puede producir grandes efectos - el sello distintivo de un sistema caótico.
Lo que a primera vista parece ser un comportamiento al azar es realmente completamente determinista - sólo parece ser al azar porque los cambios imperceptibles están haciendo toda la diferencia, aquellos que nuestros sentidos y educación no con capaces de percibir. El magnífico poder de la forma y el color que materializan la idea, que a su vez forma una obra de arte, parece ser el único método para aprehender la verdadera naturaleza de la realidad caótica en la que vivimos. Liberar estos sentimientos en el mundo, es la misión de la artista nicaragüense Patricia Castillo Bellido.

Pero ninguna obra de arte se crea en el vacío. Incluso en las formas más pequeñas, los acontecimientos de la vida cotidiana, los sonidos y las imágenes que se mueven en su entorno y en su mente, deben encontrar su camino a través del arte. La forma de esta influencia a menudo se refleja en los títulos de sus obras. Al reflexionar sobre los títulos de las pinturas de Patricia, encuentro la evidencia de que el caos puede llevarnos de vuelta al efecto mariposa, revoloteando en nuestra percepción hacia el encuentro con la libertad de la forma y el movimiento. Su obra podría clasificarse dentro de la abstracción geométrica, sin embargo, esta sucede cuando la razón, la lógica y el cálculo son el corazón de la obra y la forma y color revelan equilibrio y unidad mediante sus formas geométricas puras y los colores planos. Sin embargo, la pintura de Patricia también responde a la abstracción lírica, expresando espontáneamente sus sentimientos a través de la elaboración de rectángulos de formas libres, improvisadas e irregulares. Ella como tan claramente lo expone en su base sincrónica, funde geometría y lirismo, mediante su libertad expresiva que rige la selección de colores y la distribución de las formas. Este valor en su obra, le ha ganado la selección de curadores y galeristas internacionales, que desean su trabajo en ferias de arte y en sus galerías.

A
t the heart of Chaos Theory is the fascinating notion that order and chaos are not always diametrically opposed. Chaotic systems are an intimate mix of the two: from the outside they exhibit unpredictable and chaotic behavior, but they expose the inner workings and discover a perfectly deterministic set of exact equations.
The butterfly effect is the most popular theme of chaos theory, which Konrad Lorenz posed to show how the smallest of differences can produce great effects - the hallmark of a chaotic system. What at first glance seems to be random behavior is actually completely deterministic - it just seems to be random because the imperceptible changes are making all the difference, those that our senses and education fail to perceive. The magnificent power of form and color that materialize the idea, which in turn forms a work of art, seems to be the only method to apprehend the true nature of the chaotic reality in which we live. Releasing these feelings in the world, is the mission of the Nicaraguan artist Patricia Castillo Bellido.

But no work of art is created in the void. Even in the smallest forms, the events of everyday life, the sounds and images that move in their surroundings and in their mind, must find their way through art. The form of this influence is often reflected in the titles of her artworks. Reflecting on the titles of Patricia's paintings, I find evidence that chaos can lead us back to the butterfly effect, fluttering in our perception toward the encounter with freedom of form and movement. Her artwork could be classified within geometric abstraction, however, this happens when reason, logic and calculation are the heart of the painting and the form and color reveal balance and unity through their pure geometric forms and flat colors. However, Patricia's painting also responds to lyrical abstraction, spontaneously expressing its feelings through the elaboration of rectangles of free, improvised and irregular forms. As she so clearly puts it in her synchronic base, fuses geometry and lyricism, through her expressive freedom that governs the selection of colors and the distribution of forms. This value in her artwork has earned her the selection of curators and international gallerists, who are exhibiting her paintings in art fairs and galleries. PATRICIA CASTILLO-BELLIDO DECLARACIÓN DE PRINCIPIOS, 2017 Mi obra me llevó a descubrir numerosas formas de translucidez, que implica la descomposición fragmentaria de la luz - los colores fríos, reflejados mientras que los cálidos pasan a través del ambiente translúcido. El efecto resultante del paso de la luz a través de entornos translúcidos resulta en opalescencia. Actualmente, hay una amplia gama de colores translúcidos, convencionales o inusuales que me gusta pintar y sentir el silencio y la música de la luz que ofrecen unidos. Los colores de lienzo y acrílico pueden configurarse para tener propiedades translúcidas en el proceso de producción, superponiendo varias veladuras transparentes, generando varios grados de translucencia colorida. Las pinturas translúcidas ponen y mantienen ambientes encantadores, meditativos, que dejan su impresión en nuestros sentidos y espíritu. Veladura sobre veladura es la forma en que la mente y el espíritu funcionan en cada uno de nosotros, por eso las veladuras de color se unen y conectan todo en el Universo. La veladura crea la ilusión de la separación física, pero podemos llegar a una experiencia cada vez más amplia de nosotros mismos y de toda la existencia si sentimos esos colores sobre los colores, de la misma manera que los represento en mis pinturas abstractas. Nuestras vidas pueden ser realmente un gran juego para explorar la conciencia, sobre todo para quienes ven los colores de las veladuras de nuestras vidas y entienden que incluso cuando estamos físicamente separados aquí, espiritualmente estamos todos íntimamente interconectados en esta divina danza multicolor cósmica.
PATRICIA CASTILLO-BELLIDO STATEMENT, 2017 My artwork led me to discover numerous forms of translucence, which involves the fragmentary decomposition of light – cold colors, reflected while warm ones pass through the translucent environment. The effect resulting from the passage of light through translucent environments result in opalescence. Currently, there is a wide range of translucent colors, conventional or unusual that I enjoy painting and feel the silence and music of light and colors. Canvas and acrylic colors can be set to have translucent properties in the production process, by overlapping several transparent veil colors I generate various degrees of translucence. Translucent paintings set and maintain enchanting, meditative ambiances, which leave their impression upon one’s senses and spirit. Veil over veil is the way mind and spirit function in each of us, that is why veiled colors unite and connect everything in the Universe. The veil creates the illusion of physical separation, but we can reach an ever more expanded experience of ourselves and all existence if we feel those colors over colors, in the same way I represent them in my abstract paintings.
Our lives can actually be a great game for exploring consciousness for those who see the veil colors of our lives for what they are and understand that even as we are physically separate here, spiritually we are all intimately interconnected in this divine cosmic colorful dance.
