Mirroring the torn posters seen all a r o u n d B e r l i n , I g o r ’s w o r k i m p r e s s e s a futuristic feeling, yet is inspired by t h i n g s o f t h e p a s t s u c h a s h i s t o r y, ancient cultures, myths and old faiths, as well as nature and science. The layers often expose a realist object behind the more abstract top layer. Igor sees himself as translating the nature of human life into his work (more will be revealed in time)

These are mysterious ar tworks which take the energy of a curious mind to understand - there is a message here, but the ar tist is not giving much a w a y. Perhaps some clue is derived from the series names: Utro (last page), Gravity (left based on the pole shift theor y) and Pars pro toto (opposite) both from the series Schein und Sein, which translates from the German into ‘A p p e a r a n c e a n d B e i n g ’. Pars pro toto by the w a y m e a n s ‘a p a r t o r aspect of something taken as representative o f t h e w h o l e’

“ P a r s p r o To t o” h a s been used both as the name of an ar twork and as a series in which “NUDE II” And “Lily Ta t t o o” ( n e x t p a g e ) b o t h show the transformation of a human body into a landscape. Because the ar tist paints his por traits from real life, ‘Lily’ reveals a fragment of the models lily tat too. “ E L E N A” a l s o p a r t o f t h e “ P a r s p r o To t o” s e r i e s is a por trait of a young w o m a n , a “c o l o u r s c a l e” of the person.

I g o r ’s u n i q u e a p p r o a c h h a s d e f i n e d h i s s t y l e , h e says “I always paint in a realistic manner. but at the same time I want to go deeper. The second step is to rework the finished piece. That means I paint over that picture again and again, so that at the end we see some fragment from the realism which was present in the beginning. These fragments are never planned, but are created intuitively” The ar tists explains “The fragments in my pictures are full of information. But this information is not visible as a whole. The models I paint, I never met before. I just asked them by accident to sit for a por trait. That situation is actually a fragment itself. The fragments are also a kind of meditation on and in the colour sur faces w h i c h a r e a l w a y s p a i n t e d h o r i z o n t a l l y. A h o r i z o n t a l l i n e or stripe symbolises landscape, a line between ear th a n d s k y, m o t i o n , f l o w. L i k e t h e f l o w o f t i m e a n d a l l t h e f r a g m e n t s o f t h e p a s t i n i t ”. “The abstract top layer colours come from the subject underneath, for example I might paint a por trait and see wonder ful red on the lips, blue in the eyes and maybe g r e e n b e c a u s e t h e m o d e l l o v e s g r e e n s h o e l a c e s”

Igor remembers one of his best reviews was of his first solo exhibition: the writer totally understood the whole concept without any interview with him, a wonder ful moment. The ar tist graduated from the Hochschule fßr Kunst, Design und Populäre Musik in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany in 2011, and has had many solo and group shows. His works are in several private c o l l e c t i o n s i n c o u n t r i e s s u c h a s G e r m a n y, G r e a t Britain, the USA and Switzerland. The ar tworks are deceptively large and so are an attractive option both from a visual and a cerebral standpoint.

Joy and positivity are the central message o f I n g e’s c o l o u r f u l a b s t r a c t s - a D a n i s h a r t i s t who also works as a family therapist, believing that positivity has an inherently self-reinforcing power. To g e t h e r w i t h 8 o t h e r p a i n t e r s , s h e h a s a workshop in the ar tist community in Aarhus, the second largest town in Denmark and has been painting for many years, spending countless hours teaching courses. She is also a member of several inspirational and learning groups. S h e s t a t e s t h a t i n l i f e i t ’s i m p o r t a n t t o c h o o s e the right attitude, and so rather than por tray explicit political statements, she chooses to ‘Make a d a n c e’ o n t h e c a n v a s . Whist she has always b e e n c r e a t i v e i n s o m e w a y, Inge star ted painting aged 50 and is inspired by the people around her. She notices that ‘life for most of us is sometimes odd and not per fect, but still beautiful and full of joy and h o p e’. S h e h a s m e t a m a z i n g people who have overcome l i f e’s g r e a t c h a l l e n g e s , and who have kept up the courage to make changes. ‘ E v e n w h e n l i f e i s a t i t s’ most difficult, people have the power and courage necessar y to overcome their problems. From her work as a therapist with children and families, she believes in the healing power of ar t and ar t therapy because both ar t and therapy complement each o t h e r p e r f e c t l y. C o n v e r s e l y, ar t also gives her a lot of inspiration and joy to meet people and be their initiator. She has 2 main styles, her abstracts and dance pictures which she sees as a fun supplement.

With regard to her inspiration and process, she takes many photos that directly or most often indirectly inspire her with a mood or an idea for an image. She also receives impressions that fill her head and body and she brings these alive with large arm movements transferred onto the canvas expressing a dream or a change. She paints expressively and uses many different tools: brushes, worn bill cards, sticks, cardboard pieces, and ver y often the fingers. In addition to the human condition, nature and music are a constant source of inspiration. The results are huge pictures with lots of layers and colours.

She has received fantastic reviews at ar t exhibitions and from her galler y collaborations, however she is most moved by her customer reviews, many of whom have written beautiful words about her pieces, and who return again and again. ANA VE GA BERLIN, GERMANY ABSTRAC T, C ARTOON , POP ART I t ’s a l o f t y a m b i t i o n , a n d a r g u a b l y a w o r t h y one, to want to change the world, and this i s w h a t A n a Ve g a a i m s t o a c h i e v e w i t h h e r ar t, writing, music and her venture called 12pm:Peace founded on the Maharishi Effect, all of which are interlinked. The Maharishi effect was first discovered i n t h e 1 9 7 0 ’s b y t h e y o g i M a h a r i s h i M a h e s h , when he obser ved that large groups of people meditating in the same location at the same time were able to affect the behaviour of others around them.

I n Wa s h i n g t o n D C I n 1 9 9 3 , J o h n H a g e l i n s e t o u t t o v e r i f y t h e i n c r e d i b l e c l a i m s c i e n t i f i c a l l y, when a group of around 4,000 people from 82 countries gathered in the capital and practiced transcendental meditation for six hours a day from June 7 to July 30. Using data obtained from the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Depar tment for 1993 and the p r e c e d i n g f i v e y e a r s , H a g e l i n s’ t e a m c l a i m e d t o have reduced crime rates by 23%. Based on this, Ana wants to encourage thousands of people around the world to commit to daily meditation for peace. She has written a novel with a soundtrack that the reader can play while reading, and 3 of her paintings are featured and w o r k e d i n t o t h e s t o r y. S h e i s o f f e r i n g h e r n o v e l f o r f r e e o n i Tu n e s a n d G o o g l e P l a y, t o g e t h e r w i t h a p l a y l i s t f o r i t o n b o t h Spotify and Deezer. She hopes that profits from ar t sales will enable her to set up the 12pm:Peace meditation venture. She says ‘Our world is divided into 39 time zones, so if we have people meditating i n e v e r y t i m e z o n e d a i l y, c h a n g e i s p o s s i b l e . Ana says “I was born an ar tist, but it was always difficult for me to decide on an ar t form. It was only as an adult that I realised that I really don’t have to d e c i d e” - h e n c e h e r e x p r e s s i o n i n w o r d s , m u s i c a n d a r t . The novels plot covers a woman who quits her job in Marketing and star ts to paint. The main character is inter viewed and discusses the idea of meditating for peace. The author says that the book has ended up being a self-fulfilling prophecy due to the novel unintentionally taking her back to painting p r o f e s s i o n a l l y, j u s t a s t h e m a i n c h a r a c t e r d o e s . Ana grew up in Hamburg, attending the International School of Hamburg where students were given many oppor tunities to learn ar t and drama. She danced at the Balletzentrum Hamburg, which is the school for the official Hamburg Ballet and worked as a social m e d i a e x e c u t i v e f o r t w o M T V b r a n d s ( V I VA a n d Comedy Central). She studied International Business Management at University and was also trained in acting / per forming ar ts at Italia Conti School of P e r f o r m i n g A r t s a s w e l l a s t h e S y l v i a Yo u n g D r a m a School in London. She then went on to study business and is also a trained classical pianist.
