Hi, my name is Jeni Baker! Finding ways to be creative every day is an important part of my life, whether it be through my sewing and quilting, photography, fabric design or blogging. I love nothing more than to be surrounded by fabric, and my favorite part of the sewing process is choosing colors. I love figuring out how to make things work as well as designing my own patterns. Currently, I teach sewing classes part time at The Sewcial Lounge, a modern sewing and fabric shop in Madison, WI. I design fabrics for Art Gallery Fabrics and design sewing patterns under my own name. In addition to sewing, I love to bake, go thrifting, and collect vintage kitchenware and vintage sheets. I’m originally from Northeast Ohio, where I was born, grew up, and attended college. I graduated with a degree in Marketing and Studio Art from Baldwin-Wallace College in 2011. We try to make it back home at least twice a year! I started sewing around the same time I started blogging. I taught myself to sew with the help of my Mom, who always encouraged craftiness. Throughout high school I sewed tote bags and other small projects. When I went away to college, I dragged along my sewing machine and sewed off and on when I found time between classes. Finally, I moved into an apartment and made my first quilt. I have been hooked ever since! Lucky me, quilting runs in my family! We have quite a few quilts that were made by my grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother on my Mom’s side. My Mom quilts a little herself too! Curiosities is my latest collection with Art Gallery fabrics. It’s inspired by my bunny George and his adventures.
