We are pleased to have the Saskatoon Chamber Singers returning for an encore of last season’s stirring concert and we also welcome four accomplished soloists. The highlight for many is the magnificent roof-raising Hallelujah Chorus, but the entire evening is one of timeless and uplifting expression, made even more extraordinary in the soaring beauty of historic Third Avenue United Church.

The Silence is Golden silent movie event returns with the 1920 film ‘The Mark of Zorro,’ directed by Fred Niblo, presented with a live orchestral accompaniment by the Saskatoon Symphony. Back by popular demand is the silent movie music man himself, Mr. Rick Friend, direct from L.A.

The film stars energetic Douglas Fairbanks as the masked hero of the people fighting an oppressive colonial government. Fairbanks contrasts the athletic acumen of Zorro with the foppishness of Zorro’s alter ego, blazing the trail for many physical comedies and hidden identity tales to come.

This unique experience is presented in the Spanish courtyard ambience of the Roxy Theatre, one of Canada’s last atmospheric movie palaces, located on Saskatoon’s growing cultural corridor. Tickets for this event will be available from the SSO office and website beginning July 3. Two performances: 1 & 7 pm
