SERIFE MAZLUM

Serife MAZLUM is a self taught abstract artist, mother of 2 who started using art as a therapy after an accident at work and being diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).

FND is a disorder which affects how the brain controls the body, resulting in seizures, tremors, leg weaknesses and many more.

Life got very difficult in terms of physical health but this didn’t stop her from using her abilities to a positive.

In 2019 she opened an Etsy shop to show her art to the world.

She works mainly on mini to A2 sized canvases and wooden objects such as ornaments and earrings.

The artist uses mixed medium to create colourful, bright and bold art which reflects her personality.

The use of mixed medium helps show the different textures and layers within the art. The artist mainly uses acrylic paints, oil pastels, acrylic pens, pencil and sketch pens.

In the duo “Mix N Match” (2022) you can see a variety of shapes and colours which are a commonly used feature in the artists work, they’re also seen in her small business logo.
