GLOBAL ART NEWS
RUSSIAN AVANT-GARDE ART ON DISPLAY AT SAKIP SABANCI MUSEUM The Sakıp Sabancı Museum is hosting the most comprehensive exhibition in Turkey featuring Russian avant-garde, which shaped the art world in the 20th century. The exhibition sponsored by Sabancı Holding, titled “Dreaming the Future: Russian Avant-garde Art and Design,” opened on Oct. 18 and features a comprehensive anthology of the Russian avant-garde. Curated by Nazan Ölçer, the head of Sakıp Sabancı Museum, and Maria Tsantsanoglou, the head of the George Costakis Collection at State Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki, the work contains a selection of 513 works from Moscow’s All-Russian Museum of Decorative Arts and Multimedia Art Museum and works from leading private collections in Europe shown together for the first time, as well as the Costakis Collection. It is shedding light on the important place Russian avant-garde occupied in the history of art. Focusing on one of the most sensational periods of 20th century art history, the exhibition represents the fertile productivity of the entire period and the activities of the artists and the schools that aimed to spread their art to every aspect of life with a selection including paintings, design, literature, film and theater. It does not only focus on the dramatic changes and radical developments that happened during the first quarter of the 20th century and prepared the groundwork for intellectual and artistic progress, not just within the Russian artistic culture, but it is designed to hold a mirror to the effect on world art.

The exhibition shows that Russian avant-garde artists in the early 1900s tried to introduce art as a life-changing power, the ground-breaking work of the artists in this period where the reformist atmosphere had been brought about by the October Revolution in 1917, and the social design they tried to put into practice supported by the new regime and also the wide boundaries of the future they dreamt of. The exciting technological developments and industrialization that occurred in the early 20th century turned the avant-garde artists towards science and overcoming the boundaries of the earth. Dreams of space reflected the beliefs the artists had for the future, and this is very vividly reflected in the works displayed in this exhibition.Â

Design For Living: The Genius of Gio Ponti GLOBAL ART AND MORE
Architect, artist, writer, editor, designer of everything from cutlery to coffee machines, sofas to stage sets, Gio Ponti, one of the creative giants of the 20th century, was a creative dynamo. A major new exhibition at the MusĂŠe des Art DĂŠcoratifs in Paris, which runs from October 19 to February 10 celebrates his lifetime achievements.
The show, entitled Tutto Ponti: Gio Ponti, Archi-Designer, is the first retrospective of his work in France, and will include over 500 items from both public and private collections, some of which have never been shown before. Born in 1891, Ponti studied architecture at the University of Milan before setting up his own practice, though from an early age he began combining architecture and design. In 1923, he became the creative director of the Italian porcelain company Richard Ginori, whose designs he transformed, while also practicing as an architect and, in 1928, setting up the influential magazine Domus, which he edited (apart from a few years in the 1940s) until his death in 1979.

During a prolific 60-year career, he designed private villas and city skyscrapers, art museums and cathedrals, glassware and lighting, tiles and fabrics, wrote books and scripted screenplays - but for Ponti all these things were connected. As the legendary American designer Charles Eames once remarked, Ponti was “one of the rare ones – an architect who considers everything as architecture and has practiced architecture in all his work.

Tulum’s special energy became clear when talking to longtime residents, locals, and lucky visitors. It all just seems to work flawlessly. Everyone wants to be here, and it shows on their faces. People seem to light up when talking about their city. Tulum has somehow managed to retain its simple “live and let live” atmosphere, inviting many to experience its exquisite charms.

INTERVIEW
PIA KINTRUP
3.Are you focused on a specific theme? Nowadays there is no space for emptiness. Based on this area of tension my work is connected through themes of emptiness, abundance, and transformation. The title of my ''Horror Vacui'', for example, refers to a psychological phenomenon of the same name. Theme of emptiness is describing a fear of empty space also. The subject of this artwork is the visual impression of patterns in relation to empty space. I did some couple of works, which lead to an idea of the world where the level of emptiness is raised. Transformational processes, value and photographic of transition are also very important for my work.
4. Would you talking about your upcoming projects? What issues do you plan to produce? At the moment, I am working on two different work in progress. One is called ''The nonexistent areas are particular interest'', It is about artificial places, which are also an extreme of staging and control. The other is a series of photograms, which I expose only by lighting a match. The series is more like a work cycle and I am glad that it is going further and takes a new direction.
5.What do you think about ARTNESS SYSTEM? My impression of Artness System that is highly professional, and a helpful platform, even for young emerging artists to realize their projects and to get a better chance of being seen in the jungle of international contemporary art.

3. What are you currently working on? There is no precise project I’m working on right now. Everyting born from the ispiration and the feeling that crosses my heartan my mind at the moment.
4. Would you talking about your upcoming projects? What issues do you plan to produce? I don’t really love doing particulary projects in the artistic field. I prefer to follow my heart day by day. So to this question I answer as I said in the previous question
www.artnessystem.com
The path of his life has been painful and difficult, but in these circumstances he has always found comfort in the Faith and in Art in every form of expression. Over the years he has attended numerous artistic and creative workshops in order to learn the most varied techniques until determining the Laboratory of "Art and Identity" conducted and edited by the international artist Agnese Purgatorio with which he also learned the technique of artistic collage . Roberta's work does not want to be abstract and without meaning. Often autobiographical, it is aimed at that part of society that is marginalized, invisible and fragile.

My inspiration comes from an admiration of Asian Culture and my designs reflect that influce in contemporary fused glass pieces for home decor and jewelery. Other mediums I enjoy are oil and acrylic paint on watercolor paper which become biomorphic shapes. Oil is also a favored medium as I enjoy manipulating it’s buttery quality. Favourite subjects include landscapes, flowers and animals. Happily, my luminous hot glass designs, oil and acrylic paintings are enjoyed by private collectors from around the world.
