THANK YOU FOR CREATING IMPACT ACROSS OUR COMMUNITY BY MAKING THE ARTS ACCESSIBLE TO SAN DIEGANS, UC SAN DIEGO & K-12 STUDENTS! Thanks to our community of friends and supporters, the 2014–15 multi-arts season marked ArtPower’s 11th year of programming. ArtPower presented over 100 public performances and engagement events of chamber music, dance, film, global music, and jazz! As our partner, your generous support helped make the performing arts accessible to our community and in the lives of young people. There is much to be proud of when reflecting back on ArtPower’s 2014–15 Season.

UC SAN DIEGO FREE & DISCOUNTED STUDENT TICKET PROGRAM This season marked the 11th anniversary of ArtPower’s UC San Diego Student Ticket Program. As one of ArtPower’s banner programs, it has allowed us to continue providing free and discounted tickets to both undergraduate and graduate students, continuing our long-standing practice of prioritizing student access. The program ensures that cost is never a barrier for students to attend exceptional performing arts and film experiences. This past season, an estimated 4,000 UC San Diego students attended ArtPower performances, one of our highest attendance rates yet! While these figures vary from genre to genre, students made up roughly 42% of our audience throughout the entire 2014–15 season. Since 2009, we have nearly doubled the number of undergraduate and graduate students attending performances, and we envision an increase in those numbers as our program grows. Time and time again our students have shared that these opportunities enable them think about their own academic endeavors in more creative ways, opening their minds to limitless possibilities.

WHY STUDENTS LOVE ARTPOWER “ArtPower has greatly shaped my career and personal interests as a creative student. It’s allowed me to explore the world right on my school campus through an artistic lens, and greatly shaped my cultural interests. As someone who came to ArtPower with very little exposure to the performing arts, I am endlessly grateful to ArtPower for opening my eyes to appreciate the most abstract contemporary dancers, jazz music, Mongolian throat singing, the list goes on. The ArtPower experience is unparalleled in supplementing my education with what it would otherwise be greatly missing: an interactive, one-of-a-kind opportunity to understand culture, art, and what makes humans so fascinating. History, creativity, film, tech . . . they have all come together through my time at ArtPower!”—Gloria Lin, ArtPower Marketing Assistant and Student Attendee “I’ve opened my eyes to the world of performative arts, and it is through ArtPower that I was able to do so. I’ve learned so much more about myself as an individual, artist, and leader through ArtPower.”—Bryant Vu, ArtPower Marketing Intern and Student Attendee
