Trainer’s insights As the trainer, it is important for you to know that of all the Chapters covered in this Training Guide, and of all the sessions in this module, understanding the relationship between the global policy agenda and decentralized cooperation is probably the most abstract! In this session, we will try to show the links and make the necessary connections between the Agenda 2030 and the SDGs (that guide the global policy agenda) and DC, a fundamental local vehicle to help LRGs achieving the global goals. Referring back to our bicycle analogy, the focus in this session is on the importance of steering the bicycle on its journey towards the destination of sustainability. Given the more abstract nature of this session, it is important for us to present the content in the simplest way possible. After each section, it will be useful to check with the group to make sure that everyone is on the same page. This session will also include exercises that will help to break the monotony of the lectures and help to reinforce learning through individual and group work. It should also be mentioned that Module 1 covered some basic concepts that will be revisited, in greater detail, in this Module.
