Acrylic

Acrylic, a high-quality polymethylmetacrylate, is the primary material used to produce VitrA bathtubs, shower trays, compact shower units, shower systems and compact systems. It is highly resistant to wear and tear, easy to clean and hygienic, which is why it is our material of choice. Acrylic is known to be one of the most suitable materials for mankind. It has an elastic structure; it is resistant to impact and deformation. Any scratches to the surface can easily be polished out. Acrylic products are always bright in color as the pigments disperse homogeneously and they retain their good looks throughout their life-time. VitrA uses acrylic sheets from Lucite International in the UK, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of acrylic, whose products meet our quality standards. Acrylic sheets are guaranteed to resist abrasion in line with ten-year ageing tests conducted by the Turkish Scientific Research Institute.

VitrAhygiene VitrA maintains its position as Turkey’s leading producer of acrylic bathtubs and shower trays by investing research to develop modern bathroom concepts. What sets VitrA apart is not just its extensive product range and wide variety of hydro-massage options, but also the combination of advanced technology, like the VitrAhygiene system, which enhances the anti-bacterial property of acrylic.

Acrylic bathtubs and shower trays, with their non-porous and homogeneous surfaces, naturally protect against bacteria. VitrAhygiene provides even better self-protection.

Lucite Care acrylic panels developed by Ineos Acrylics are the main material used in the production of bathtubs and shower trays featuring VitrAhygiene technology. The hygienic characteristics of these panels are improved by the addition of antibacterial agents to the acrylic polymers during production.

Bathtubs and shower trays produced using VitrAhygiene technology prevent the growth and spread of bacteria and ensure a continually hygienic environment. Regular cleaning keeps the products clean and bright all the time. Lucite Care acrylic panels, the main material used in VitrAhygiene technology, are approved by England’s leading test laboratory, Law Laboratories Ltd. and other independent laboratories.

The bacteria-fighting properties of VitrAhygiene products last throughout their lifetime. There are no negative side-effects and they provide guaranteed protection. Many additives used in most products such as toothpaste, perfume and antibacterial soap don’t contain any toxic or allergic substances.

Hydrotherapy and Hydro-massage Systems

Would you like to break away from the stress of daily life, at least for a little while? Take out the tension from your body and relax? Now you can pamper yourself with a soothing massage with VitrA products. Imagine the positive effects of hydro-massage on your wellness and peace of mind. VitrA offers 5 different hydro-massage systems. For your health and well-being... The hydro-massage system pumps water, and circulates it via jets. In addition to massaging, it also helps treat problems like headaches, backaches and cellulite. The circular movement of the water in the tub leads to a faster transfer of heat to the body tissue and helps to relieve aches and pains with the hydrotherapeutic effect of heat and water pressure at the nerve endings.

Maintenance

IMPORTANT FEATURES • Acrylic is resistant to acids and alkalines; however avoid bringing your product into contact with organic substances, paint removers, acetone and other solvents. • Keep lit cigarettes away from your product. • Do not remove the protective film prior to finishing all installation work in your bathroom, in order to keep the product fully protected.

CLEANING OF THE PRODUCT For all products: • Immediately after use, clean your product with a bath cleaner or a lime solvent, a soft cloth and warm water. Otherwise, soap, dirt or lime-removing substances can form a thin layer on the acrylics and make cleaning more difficult. • Do not use hydrochloric acid, scouring powder detergents, soft soap or hard scouring sponge pads to clean your product. For whirlpool bathtubs, shower systems and compact systems: • All chrome parts of the products can be removed. It is recommended that you remove these parts at least once a month to prevent corrosion. If the product comes into contact with hard water, the parts should be cleaned using lime removers. You’ll find further information about this subject under the heading “Maintenance of Chrome Parts”.

DISINFECTION OF WHIRLPOOL BATHTUBS • It is recommended that you disinfect your whirlpool bathtub at least once a month. • The Duo Maxi hydro-massage system features an ‘Automatic Disinfection Program’ for its bathtubs. • For bathtubs with other systems, cleaning should be done as follows: -Fill the bathtub with water (the water level should be approx. 3 cm above the jets). -Pour a sufficient amount of disinfectant in the bathtub. The disinfectant should be skin sensitive. -Run the system for 3 minutes in order for the disinfectant to be distributed in the entire system. -Stop the system and wait 10 minutes. -Run the system again for 3 minutes. -Stop the system again and wait a further 10 minutes. -Finally, run the system again for 3 minutes. -Drain the water from the bathtub and refill with clean water. -Run the system for 2-3 minutes with clean water, then drain again.

MAINTENANCE OF CHROME PARTS • After the chrome parts have been in contact with lime (hard) water; whirlpool bathtubs, shower systems and compact systems may all show residue build-up. • The chrome parts should be removed according to the instructions and should regularly be cleaned using a residue dissolving substance.

• Please check that silicone has been applied between product and wall.

• For whirlpool bathtubs, compact systems

• Massage system does not work.

• Make sure that the water level is 3 cm higher than the jets.

• For bathtubs, shower trays, compact systems

• Waste is often blocked.

• Hair, soap etc. may be blocking the waste. Clean the waste with an unblocking agent.

• For shower systems

• Little or no water comes from the jets.

• For your shower system to be at its most efficient, you should operate it at a water pressure of at least 3 bar (43.5 psi).

• For compact systems with steam system

• No steam appears.

• Ensure water is supplied to the system. Check if the command panel light is.

• Water leaks from the edges of the cabin.

• Check that silicone is applied to all joints of the cabin.

• Waste cover doesn’t open when the control lever is turned.

• If the control lever is forced, the waste pulley wire may snap. However, the height of the waste cover can be adjusted by turning the cover counter clockwise.

• After using Duo maxi and Duo Soft whirlpool bathtubs and draining the water, the system starts working automatically.

• This is not a problem. The hydro-massage system on Duo maxi and Duo soft models will circulate air in order to dry out the pipes, approximately 20 minutes after the water has been drained. This process serves to improve the hygiene of your hydro-massage system.
