Last spring, we launched the Chinese-language context "Future Greats" special issue for the first time. Since the international version of ArtReview first launched the "Future Greats" column in 2007 , "Future Greats" has been shaped into a trend vane in the art world. This list is not only a "divination" for the future, but also a judgment, encouragement and expectation of current artistic practice. Once a prophecy is made, it becomes a driving force for the present. This is why we prefer to regard the list of "Future Stars" as a motivational declaration rather than a list dedicated to representing or shaping authority and consensus.
