คณะอั ก ษรศาสตร์ได้จัดโครงการหลักสูตรพัฒนา อาจา ร ย์รุ่นใหม่ คณะอักษรศาสตร์ 2561 ณ ห้อง บรรยาย 304 อาคารมหาจักรีสิรินธร โดยในวันที่ 21 พฤษภาคม 2561 มีการบรรยายในหัวข้อต่างๆ ดังนี้ 1. ความท้าทายและอนาคตของคณะอักษรศาสตร์ โดย รศ.ดร.กิ่งกาญจน์ เทพกาญจนา คณบดีคณะ อักษรศาสตร์ 2. หลักสูตรปรับปรุงของคณะอักษรศาสตร์และการ บริหารหลักสูตร โดย รศ.ดร.วิลิตา ศรีอุฬารพงศ์ รองคณบดี และ อ.ดร.ธีรวัฒน์ ธีรพจนี ผู้ช่วยคณบดี 3. ความผูกพันองค์กร (Engagement) โดย คุณกฤษณ์ อิ่มแสง

ศูนย์ภาษาไทยในฐานะภาษาต่างประเทศ
งานอบรมเพื่อประชาสัมพันธ์ศูนย์ภาษาไทยในฐานะภาษาต่างประเทศ “ศาสตร์ภาษาไทยในฐานะภาษาต่างประเทศ มุมมองของผู้เรียนและการพัฒนาการสอนในชั้นเรียน” งานอบรมเพื่ อ ประชาสั ม พั น ธ์ ศู น ย์ ภ าษาไทยใน ฐานะภาษาต่างประเทศ “ศาสตร์ภาษาไทยใน ฐานะภาษาต่างประเทศ มุมมองของผู้เรียน และการพัฒนาการสอนในชั้นเรียน” จัดขึ้น เมื่อวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 26 เมษายน 2561 ณ ห้อง อเนกประสงค์ ชั้น 9 อาคารมหาจักรีสิรินธร คณะ อักษรศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย มีผู้เข้า ร่วมทั้งสิ้น 231 คน ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่เป็นอาจารย์ผู้สอน ภาษาไทยให้กับชาวต่างประเทศจากสถาบันต่างๆ ทั่วประเทศ ในช่วงเช้า เวลา 9.00น. คณบดีคณะอักษรศาสตร์ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.กิ่งกาญจน์ เทพกาญจนา ได้กล่าวเปิดงานและบรรยายเรื่อง “คณะอักษร ศาสตร์ กั บ การพั ฒ นาศาสตร์ ภ าษาไทยในฐานะ ภาษาต่างประเทศ” จากนั้น ในเวลา 9.30น. รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. ฐิติมา สุทธิวรรณ ผู้อ�ำนวยการศูนย์ภาษา คณะ อักษรศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยแห่ง ชาติสิงคโปร์ ได้บรรยายพิเศษในหัวข้อ “การสอน ภาษาไทยในฐานะภาษาต่างประเทศ: อดีต ปัจจุบัน และอนาคต” ต่อมา เวลา 10.45 น. มีการเสวนาในหัวข้อ “ภาษา ไทยในมุมมองของผู้เรียนชาวต่างชาติ: สิ่งที่ผู้สอน ควรค�ำนึงถึง” โดยมีผู้ร่วมเสวนา 4 ท่าน ได้แก่ Professor Bo Wenze หัวหน้าภาควิชาภาษาไทย ภาควิชาภาษาตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ มหาวิทยาลัย ปั ก กิ่ ง และนายกสมาคมการสอนภาษาไทยแห่ ง ประเทศจีน อาจารย์ Michael Crabtree อาจารย์ ประจ�ำภาควิชาภาษาอังกฤษ คณะอักษรศาสตร์

“ ช อ บ ท� ำ ง า น ที่ ไ ด ้ ช ่ ว ย เ ห ลื อ คน พอได้รับโอกาสให้มาท�ำ หน้าที่ตรงนี้ ก็รู้สึกว่าเราได้ท�ำ ประโยชน์ ได้มีส่วนในการช่วย เหลือน้องๆ นิสิตที่เรียนดีแต่ ขาดแคลนทุนทรัพย์” ระหว่าง การสนทนาที่ กิ น เวลาไม่ น านนั ก ผู้เขียนเห็นถึงความนอบน้อม ถ่อมตน เป็นกันเอง ซื่อ แต่ดูจริงใจ มี ใบหน้าที่เป็นมิตรพร้อมรอยยิ้มฉาย รับอยู่ตลอดเวลา นายพันธกานต์ บุญประเสริฐ หรือ ‘น้องปุ้ย’ ฅนอักษรฯ ของเราฉบับ นี้ จึงน่าจะเรียกได้ว่ามาพร้อมกับ ความเย็ น รั บ ปี ใ หม่ ไ ทยก็ ค งไม่ ผิ ด หากเราจะสัมผัสและรับรู้ความรู้สึก นั้นได้ ก็ต่อเมื่อเราได้อ่านเรื่องราว ของเขาในบทสัมภาษณ์ชิ้นนี้จบลง

“ความพยายามอยู่ที่ไหนความส�ำเร็จอยู่ที่ นั่น” ผมเป็นพี่คนโตครับ มีน้องสองคน จบปริญญา ตรีจากมหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ สาขา ภาษาอังกฤษ ปี 2555 ก่อนเข้ามาท�ำที่คณะ อักษรฯ ผมท�ำงานที่ธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ จ�ำกัด (มหาชน) เป็นที่แรกในต�ำแหน่ง Teller (พนักงานธนกิจ) ซึ่งต้องบริการลูกค้าที่เข้ามา ใช้บริการของธนาคาร ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการฝาก ถอน และโอนเงินกับทางธนาคาร การท�ำงาน ที่นี่ได้สอนอะไรผมหลายอย่าง เช่น สอนให้ เรามีความอดทน มีความพยายาม มีสติใน การท�ำงาน และความพยายามในการขาย ประกัน ตอนแรกผมรู้สึกกังวลและประหม่า ในการขายประกัน เพราะกลัวน�ำเสนอแล้ว ลูกค้าไม่สนใจ และกลัวลูกค้าต่อว่า ในวันแรก ผมพยายามขายประกันให้แก่ลูกค้าที่เข้ามา ใช้บริการตั้งแต่คนแรก เชื่อไหมครับว่าลูกค้า ไม่ ส นใจที่ จ ะซื้ อ ประกั น แม้ แ ต่ ค นเดี ย วเลย แต่ผมไม่ละความพยายาม ได้น�ำเสนอให้กับ ลูกค้าต่อไปประมาณเกือบ 10 คน จนกระทั่ง คนที่ 11 ลูกค้าท่านนั้นสนใจที่จะซื้อประกัน ของผม ในตอนนั้นผมรู้สึกดีใจจนบอกไม่ถูก ดีใจจนมือไม้สั่น เพราะผมคิดว่าการพูดโน้ม น้าวคนให้ซื้อประกันเป็นสิ่งที่ยากมากส�ำหรับ ผม เหตุการณ์นั้นเป็นอีกหนึ่งเหตุการณ์ที่ ท�ำให้ผมเชื่อว่า ความพยายามอยู่ที่ไหนความ ส�ำเร็จอยู่ที่นั่น “เหมือนได้ท�ำกุศลไปในตัว” เริ่มท�ำงานที่นี่ตั้งแต่เดือนสิงหาคม 2559 งาน กิจการนิสิต ต�ำแหน่ง เจ้าหน้าที่บริการการ ศึกษา ผมมีหน้าที่ดูแลเกี่ยวกับเรื่องทุนการ ศึกษาของนิสิตคณะอักษรศาสตร์ครับ ผม รู้สึกว่าท�ำงานที่นี้เหมือนได้ท�ำกุศลไปในตัว เลยนะครับ คือเราได้มีส่วนในการช่วยเหลือ น้องๆ นิสิตที่เรียนดีแต่ขาดแคลนทุนทรัพย์
น้องๆ บางคนมีปัญหาด้านการเงินหรือปัญหา ต่างๆ ทางงานกิจการนิสิตก็จะช่วยน้องๆ ให้ได้ มากที่สุด ในการสมัครรับทุนอุดหนุนการศึกษา ถึง แม้ผมจะช่วยได้ไม่มากก็ตาม แต่ก็เต็มใจช่วยเต็มที่ นะครับ เพื่อให้น้องๆ นิสิตได้มีอนาคตที่สดใส
อะไรในชีวิตก็ตาม ขอให้เราท�ำวันนี้ให้ดีที่สุด แม้ ผลที่ตามมาจะไม่ใช่สิ่งที่ดีที่สุด แต่เราก็ยังได้รู้ตัว ว่าเราได้พยายามแล้ว ผลแห่งความดีที่เราท�ำอาจ จะยังไม่แสดงผลในวันนี้ และผมเชื่อในอนาคตข้าง หน้า ถ้าเราท�ำในสิ่งที่ดี สิ่งนั้นก็จะกลับคืนมาสู่เรา โดยอัตโนมัติครับ
“ถ้าเราท�ำในสิ่งที่ดี สิ่งนั้นจะกลับคืนมาสู่ “ไม่มีงานไหนที่ไม่มีอุปสรรค” เรา” ส�ำหรับหลักความคิดในการท�ำงานของผม คือ ท�ำ เวลามีปัญหาในการท�ำงาน ส่วนใหญ่ผมจะตั้งสติ วันนี้ให้ดีที่สุดครับ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเรื่องงานหรือเรื่อง ก่อน หาทางแก้ด้วยตนเอง แต่ในกรณีที่ไม่สามารถ

คอยสังเกตการณ์ปัญหาของลูกน้องๆ มากๆ เลยครับ ผมรู้สึกโชคดีมากๆ ที่ได้ท�ำงานกับ หัวหน้าที่มีความใจเย็นและมีเมตตาแบบพี่ๆทั้ง 2 ท่าน
แก้ไขปัญหาได้ด้วยตนเอง ผมก็จะปรึกษากับ หัวหน้าครับ คือการท�ำงานต่างๆ ผมคิดว่าไม่มี งานไหนที่ไม่มีอุปสรรค เราต้องพยายามคิดบวก ในการท�ำงานเสมอ และพยายามเรียนรู้และ พัฒนาจากความผิดพลาดของตนเองครับ “แม่แบบในการท�ำงานที่ดี” ส�ำหรับบุคคลที่ประทับใจในการท�ำงาน ผมขอ ยกให้เป็นแม่แบบในการท�ำงานที่ดีเลยครับ คือ
“ชวนเพื่อนๆ ไปท�ำบุญ” ผมไม่ค่อยมีงานอดิเรกครับ ส่วนใหญ่ใช้เวลา ในวันหยุดสุดสัปดาห์ ชวนเพื่อนๆไปท�ำบุญที่ วัดกัน เช่น เมื่อสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา ได้ไปท�ำบุญ ที่วัดพระปฐมเจดีย์ จังหวัดนครปฐม ผมคิด ว่าการหมั่นเข้าวัดท�ำบุญ จะส่งผลให้จิตใจของ เราสงบสุขและเกิดพลังในทางบวก ท�ำให้เรามี ก�ำลังใจจะต่อสู้กับปัญหาและอุปสรรคที่จะเข้า มากระทบกับชีวิตเรามากขึ้น อีกทั้งยังมีแรง ที่จะท�ำสิ่งที่ดีต่อตนเองและคนรอบข้างต่อไป ครับ “เนื่องในคณะอักษรครบ 101 ปี มีอะไร อยากฝากถึงคณะ” ส�ำหรับคณะอักษรศาสตร์ เป็นสถานที่ท�ำงาน ที่ดีมากส�ำหรับผม ผมรู้สึกดีใจและเป็นเกียรติ มากที่ได้ท�ำงานในสถานที่แห่งนี้ คณะอักษร ศาสตร์เป็นคณะที่ทรงคุณค่าและเป็นสถานที่ เก่าแก่ที่สุดของมหาวิทยาลัย ผมคิดว่าคณะ อักษรศาสตร์ยังคงเป็นคณะอันดับ 1 ของ ประเทศไทย ในด้านวิชาการและภาษาตลอด หัวหน้าของผมทั้ง 2 คน พี่แหวว (คุณวิภา หอม ไป ไม่ว่ากาลเวลาจะผ่านไปนานสักเพียงไหน ศิริ) และพี่มาลี (คุณมาลี สังข์จุ้ย) เป็นแบบอย่าง ก็ตาม ในการท�ำงานของผมมากๆเลยครับ พี่แหววเป็น บุคคลที่เก่งและมีความจ�ำที่ดีมากๆ อีกทั้งยัง สอนงานตั้งแต่ผมเข้ามาท�ำงานใหม่ จนกระทั่ง ตอนนี้ พี่แหววต้องใช้ความอดทนกับผมมาก แน่ๆเลยครับในการสอนงานผม ต้องขอขอบคุณ พี่แหววมากๆครับ อีกท่านนึงที่ต้องขอขอบคุณ คือ พี่มาลีครับ พี่มาลีเป็นหัวหน้าใส่ใจและ

A meeting with a representative from De La Salle University, Manila
Wednesday, May 16, 2018, Associate Professor Suradech Chotiudompant, together with representatives from the BALAC Program welcomed Deborrah Sadile Anastacio, a representative from the Department of Filipino, De La Salle University (DSLU), Manila. The purpose of her visit was to propose possible collaborations, namely, graduate and undergraduate exchange program and academic partnership activities under the theme of Filipino and Asian studies. The latter collaboration focuses on cultures, relations, economics, and mass media, with the suggested activities, such as conferences, seminars, exhibitions, and publication. DSLU is also promoting the upcoming project, an international conference on Filipino and Asian studies in Vietnam, which is open to scholars at all levels. The main objective of the conference is to emphasize the connections between the Filipino culture and other cultures in Asia which are known to have common characteristics being in the same region. DSLU is a private, non-profit, Catholic university. The University community provides human and Christian education by teaching minds, touching hearts and transforming lives. In addition to its seven colleges and one school of economics, DSLU also established research centers encompassing the fields of food science, environment, women, children, and family studies, living culture and contemporary societies, and learner and learning innovations. DSLU is currently a member of several international university associations including the ASEAN University Network (AUN) and International Association of Universities (IAU).

Meeting with delegates from Sichaun International Studies University
On Friday, May 18, 2018, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Associate Professor Kingkarn Thepkanjana, welcomed delegates from Sichaun International Studies University (SISU), Chongqing, China. Together with the Dean was the Associate Dean, Associate Professor Suradech Chotiudompant, and representatives from the Center for Thai as a Foreign Language (CTFL). The delegates from SISU led by Professor Li Xiaochuan, Vice President, were Professor Zhang Youbin, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Professor Luo Wenqing, Director of School of Oriental Languages and Literature, and Qin Wendan, a lecturer of Thai language. The main objectives of this meeting were to discuss the possibilities of inviting teaching staff from the CTFL as visiting lecturers and other collaborations concerning Thai language and culture. The objectives are part of the University’s plan to establish their Thai language department. SISU’s proposal agrees with the Faculty of Arts’ policy in supporting the teaching of Thai as a foreign language to satisfy international demands. After the discussion, the guests visited CTFL classes. Further friendly and more casual conversation continued at a lunch reception at Sasa Patra restaurant at Sasa Nives. At the moment, SISU’s Thai Section is under the Department of Oriental Languages. As SISU is famous for foreign language instructions, the Thai language department will be an addition to many other foreign language departments at the University. SISU is a full time regular undergraduate state university located in Shapingba District, Chongqing, the fourth largest city in China. Its aims are to cultivate high quality foreign language professionals and professionals in foreign-related fields. SISU is considered the most important research center of foreign languages and cultures, foreign trade and business, and international relations in Southwest China.

Visit by Chengdu University Delegates
On Wednesday, May 23, 2018, the Faculty of Arts welcomed two delegates from Chengdu University, Professor Li Ping, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages and Cultures and Executive Director of Sichuan Provincial Research Institute of Thai Studies, and Dr. Mu Lei, Vice Dean of the College of Foreign Languages and Cultures and Executive Vice SecretaryGeneral of Chengdu Translators Association. The faculty representatives included Associate Professor Suradech Chotiudompant, Associate Dean in International Affairs, Dr. Namphueng Padamalangkula, Director of Thai Studies Center, and Assistant Professor Wasana Wongsurawat, Head of the Ph.D. Program in Thai Studies. Among the issues discussed was the possibility of academic collaboration and exchange between the two universities in terms of Thai studies at the levels of both faculty members and students. Chinese exchange students who are conducting research on Thai studies will have opportunities to immerse themselves into the authentic atmosphere of Thai language and culture. To further facilitate the Chinese scholars, Professor Ping suggested a project in which key works of Thai studies are to be translated into Chinese so that Chinese scholars can gain access to them. The meeting ended with the discussion on the MoU drafting. The delegates from Chengdu University will return to their institute to explore the possibility of executing a faculty-level MoU in continuation of the earlier one in which 26 Chengdu University students spent some time at the Faculty of Arts learning Thai language and culture.

THE THREE O’S: THE OPEN EU POLICY FOR SCIENCE, RESEARCH AND INNOVATION
On May 23, 2018, the Centre of the European Studies at Chulalongkorn University organized a public lecture called “The Three O’s: The Open EU Policy for Science, Research and Innovation.” The event took place at Chaloem Rajakumari 60 Building, Chulalongkorn University. The lecture was delivered by Dr Kostas Glinos from the European Commission’s Directorate General for Research and Innovation. The session began with a welcome speech by Assistant Professor Dr. Verita Sriratana, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the Centre for European Studies. The lecture was smoothly moderated by Mr. Dmitry Pakhomov who is currently a Ph.D. student and a researcher at the Centre for European Studies, Chulalongkorn University

The honorable guest Dr Kostas Glinos, is the EU Fellow at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, where he supervises the teaching and learning of regional integration on ASEAN and the EU. Dr Glinos also leads a team responsible for EU international cooperation policy in STI (Science, Technology and Innovation) and for relations with all of Asia, Russia, European Economic Area countries, Western Balkans, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand, including through Counsellors posted in EU embassies in several countries. Dr Glinos is representing the EU at the ASEAN-EU Dialogue on S&T that takes place in the margin of ASEAN COST. He has been developing EU policy and managing programs in the area of STI for Brussels since 1992. At various points in time he has been responsible for funding programs in future and emerging technologies, cyber-physical systems, ICT research infrastructure and big research data. His current research interests include cooperation between the EU and ASEAN countries.
In this lecture, Dr Glinos provided an overview of the three O’s policy, which comprises the following: Open Innovation, Open Science, Open to the World. He highlighted the implications embedded in this policy of which objective is to enhance the cooperation between the EU and Southeast Asia regarding the research and innovation. This particular policy was set as the three strategic priorities of the European Union’s research and innovation policy. In brief, “Open Innovation”, according to Dr Glinos, refers to a specific, strategic opening of innovation processes which he emphasis on the knowledge producers, funding bodies and users to collaborate crossing boundaries regardless organizations to develop new products and services. “Open Science” is associated with the possibilities and implications of digital/web-based technologies in research in order to transform the entire research process to make it more open, replicable, and reusable. “Open to the World” means broadening opportunities for research cooperation between Europe and other research areas worldwide. After the lecture, participants got an opportunity to ask questions and share their opinions. The audience were composed of university students as well as those working in private sectors. With the help of student volunteers from Faculty of Arts, the event was professionally facilitated. From this event, it can be clearly seen that the advent of digital technologies renders science and innovation more open, collaborative and global – doing away with national and physical boundaries. Not only will the policy help enhance the economy in EU zone, it will also develop the economy in a global scale, especially in Southeast Asia. With this new policy, Thailand, for example, could embrace any particular idea as an implementation which could be adapted for its society in order to cope with the challenges faced in the current time, such as ageing society and environmental issues.
