Cool mountain waters and shaded, winding trails beckon you. Discover a pedestrian–friendly downtown densely packed with unique stores and restaurants. Wednesday, June 3, 8–10 PM Market Square Jam Presented by the Town of Blacksburg Blacksburg Farmer’s Market, Draper Road Traditional, old-time music. An official Crooked Road-affiliated venue. Admission free Thursday, June 4–Saturday, August 8 Pat West: Tangled Presented by the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech Moss Arts Center, Ruth C. Horton Gallery, 190 Alumni Mall A journey through landscape—both real and metaphoric— is the subject of Tangled, a one-person exhibition of paintings by Pat West. An established artist in Blacksburg and the New River Valley, West is well known for her bold, richly textured, expressionistically rendered paintings. Thick paint and vigorous brushstroke lend a sensual density to works in which vitality and chaos seem to alternately seethe, merge, and collide. Movement, insistent and relentless, convey a restless, complicated world of exterior landscapes in nature while suggesting a complexity of interior landscapes in the mind and heart. Hours: Tuesdays–Fridays, 10 AM–6 PM and Saturdays–Sundays, 10 AM–4 PM Admission free
