Individual expression is encouraged, and students are free to work with either acrylic or oil. The class will take place at various Triangle Land Conservancy locations around the Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Durham area. Emily Eve Weinstein - $162

Meet The Cover artist Emily Eve Weinstein arrived in North Carolina in the eighties after several years of traveling around North America, painting landscapes. Her formal art training includes Académie Charpentier, Paris, West Surrey College of Art & Design, England, and a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition to teaching plein air, Weinstein has exhibited her work widely and worked as a freelance artist creating murals and portraits. Collections of her paintings and writing are published in four art gift books. Emily is currently working on her 25-year Handmade Book series. “Painting outside, directly from nature, makes me feel alive and directly connected to my inner creativity. What I enjoy about leading painting-adventures is watching my students take flight and discover who they are as artists. I enjoy mixing different mediums and experimenting with many forms of art, but in the end I always comeback to oil paints. This ancient substance offers the most flexibility, richness and depth.” – Emily Eve Weinstein
See page 24 for more details about taking En Plein Air with Emily. This class is offered in collaboration with the Triangle Land Conservancy and will take place at their nature preserves.
