Narberth (Welsh: Arberth) was founded around a Welsh court and later became a Norman stronghold on the Landsker Line.

Central to this remarkable place is the Town Hall. First registered in 1833, listed in Lewis’s Topographical Dictionary as a “lock up house with a room over it in which a magistrate’s court and parochial meetings were held”, it’s now home to the beautiful gift and interiors store, Pembrokeshire Living.

Just opposite, The Golden Sheaf too has a long and fascinating history. With information sourced from their website, in 1861, Mr. James Philpin-Thomas opened The Golden Sheaf as a Milliners and Drapers shop. In the 1890’s the success of the shop caught the eye of Mr. Richard Davies who bought it for £150 and it has remained in his family for almost 100 years. It was during this time that Emmeline Pankhurst strived for women to vote. She travelled from London to address the ladies of Narberth, just outside this landmark shop.

Today Narberth is a bustling town, filled with all kinds of curiosities and so much creativity. Don’t miss the much-loved Narberth Food Festival, which is held on the 28th & 29th September. A leading event in its 24th year you can expect an exciting line-up of chefs and local food producers.

Find out more about the food festival on their website:

There are also many great events throughout the year at the Queens Hall, such as vintage and makers markets as well as concerts.

NARBERTH

The concept of a black kitchen may initially evoke visions of darkness and gloom, and have negative connotations, but it’s quite the opposite. The lack of colour can help create a sense of calm, it is simple, elegant, and bold, yet still feels warm and embracing.

There are other reasons to consider black as the choice for your new kitchen. Quality never goes out of style, and neither does black. It exudes a sense of luxury that can elevate the entire aesthetic of a space, whether it's a sleek modern apartment or a cosy cottage-style home.

It’s worth remembering that black is not a just one hue, but a spectrum of shades ranging from deep charcoal to jet black. This versatility allows for endless customisation options, enabling homeowners to create a kitchen that perfectly suits their taste and style preferences.

Black also serves as an ideal backdrop for showcasing statement pieces such as bold artwork or designer lighting xtures, allowing them to take centre stage without overwhelming the space.

In a world where we are often being urged to express our individuality, black kitchens o er an opportunity to do so, inviting homeowners to embrace their unique sense of style and creativity.

Whether you opt for a sleek modern aesthetic or a more eclectic vibe, a black kitchen provides the perfect canvas for bringing your design vision to life.
