Come and watch interesting Italian Films with us! It’s an opportunity to see movies that are not shown in the US, and to meet other students of Italian as well as some of your instructors. The movies are engaging and thought‐ provoking, the pizza is good… it’s a perfect way to spend a Friday evening on Campus! All films will be in Italian with English subtitles. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a comedic one‐act musical that tells the stories of six spelling bee contestants. With the support of an overzealous host, a witty Vice Principal, and a not‐so‐comforting
comfort counselor, the spellers go through hardships and triumphs to eventually find the best speller in Putnam County.

By slowing down and paying close, directed attention to process rather than product, Drawing can be used as a tool to achieve the concentrated focus of meditation. Artist in Residence Danielle Krcmar will lead you in a basic series of drawings made in response to things you see, touch, and hear as a way of increasing your awareness of present moment. Susanna Kroll will teach you how to make your own Pop‐up cards for Halloween, Birthdays or other holidays. All experience levels are welcome‐ Beginners can work preprinted
patterns, while more experienced students can personalize basic pop‐up techniques with their own shapes and themes.

Babson's first art show of the Fall‐ Behind the Image II: where the pathways of the creative process are revealed through sketchbooks, photographs and preliminary drawings
that are the source material for 5 amazing Boston based painters. Featuring art from Dana Clancy, Lisa Costanzo, John Guthrie, Crist i Rinklin, and Joe Wardwell. Opening Reception, Sept 13 5pm‐7pm. Artist Talk, Sept 20 1pm‐1:30pm. Exhibit Hours, 9am‐7pm.

A two day workshop in film photography. The first day we will discuss the camera, light metering and making well‐structured images. Students will do a photo shoot on or near the campus and return to develop the film. The second day the class will learn how to make prints from the negatives in the darkroom and produce several finished images. Students need to have a 35mm film camera. Film and printing paper is supplied. Dates: 11/5 and 11/12. 1‐6pm fee: $100 for students/$150 for non‐students contact: dakiba@babson.edu

An exhibition celebrating the aesthetic qualities as well as the scientific importance of botanical imagery, Global Flora features prints and illustrated books that have resulted from exploratory missions around the world. Curated by Elaine Mehalakes, Kemper Curator of Academic Programs.

Double Solitaire brings the work of husband and wife painters Yves Tanguy and Kay Sage together for the first time. As the exhibit explores the Surrealist work of the two artists, the paintings provide a window into the couple’s personal lives. Pictured above: Kay Sage, Small Portrait, 1950, oil on canvas.
Five Watercolors by Madame Chiang Kaishek. RSVP. Soong May‐ling, Wellesley College class of 1917, began to paint in her middle age, and quickly distinguished herself as a gifted pupil. A 1952 feature on her watercolors in Life magazine proclaimed her “aptitude far greater than that of most amateurs.” Madame Chiang donated the paintings to Wellesley College, allowing future generations of students and Davis visitors to enjoy and be inspired by her artistic work.
