“I was born in Uganda, East Africa, of Indian parentage. I have lived in London, England, and presently in New York for many years now in the West. This blend of East and West has created a cultural inquiry within my soul, which I explore in my paintings.
We all have different stories to tell, yet we experience the same bundles of painful emotions and aspire to similar goals to find peace, harmony, love, and abundance. These precious life experiences make us who we are, but unknowingly we create external walls of insecurity, hoping they will keep us safe. As I tell my story, I found a way to connect the two disciplines of my education -painting, and sculpture: I start with carving the clay then transfer the image to flexible acrylic. This process allows me to experience each piece in its Negative and Positive form. Within this process, I see my Dual Nature and find answers to clear my internal walls to be ONE with everyone and enjoy all that life offers physically and spiritually”.
